Discuss The Mist

Was pretty excited to hear they were turning this into a show, started watching it and less than 10 minutes in I already started to dislike the characters. 30 minutes in and I was hoping the mist would kill everyone and then they'd introduce a bunch of new likeable characters. Going to try one more episode. It's a shame. This looks like another Under The Dome.

Also I predict the girl was raped by her emo friend. Could be wrong but the show seems so badly written I'm willing to bet it's equally as predictable.

The first thing I thought when I read about it was oh farts, it's Queen Aslaug so I can't watch. She's not my favorite character and now, for some reason, I associate the actress with her. It's funny how we think like that. Anyway I gave it a shot but when that stupid cop threw the soldier in jail instead of giving him proper help I knew this was going to be a bust. Slamming him against the bars for not knowing his social security number? The poor guy could have hit his head or been poisoned, in any way he needed a hospital. The girl on the run just left her stuff even though she kicked the guy in the teeth and then ran straight towards the police. Some inconsistencies so far but I'll give it a few more episodes.

Yeah, almost seems worse than Under the Dome. I'm a huge King fan but after watching a bit of episodes 1 and 2, this clearly isn't for me. Other than the title and the "mist", it really seems to have little to do with the story.

I'm sticking with it, but I see plenty of faults.

Episode two was a mess. Queen Aslaug goes into the security office with the only guy who volunteered to help her and she asks him "Is that a gun?" and then proceeds to attack him out of nowhere for no reason and she wonders why he's defending himself so she kills him?! Yikes! Lol at the run from the police station where the kid didn't even get one step in. He just rolled all the way down to the bottom and waited for help.

How could they not hear the gunshots out in the mall entrance, they weren't that far away.

True. You'd think they would've been waiting right outside the door to see if something went wrong! There was nothing else to do. And they already knew that something had gotten into that office. And why did they let the career criminal, who's already shown she's aggressive, drive? I laughed when they were all screaming "Slow down!" as she pulled away from the carjacking attempt into a fog where she couldn't see a thing.

So was I , but was soon disappointed

started watching it and less than 10 minutes in I already started to dislike the characters.

Seems the only likable character is Francis Conroy and her husband- and look what happened to him.

30 minutes in and I was hoping the mist would kill everyone and then they'd introduce a bunch of new likeable characters.

rofl rofl

I had totally forgotten about that pile of poop - did that ever have an ending or did it get cancelled?

Also I predict the girl was raped by her emo friend.

I think so too.

Could be wrong but the show seems so badly written I'm willing to bet it's equally as predictable.

Agreed.

Yes, it's normal/human nature to think that way.

Exactly!I think it's one of those show's where most all characters are stupid and do stupid things- it will provide good comic relief for me from TP.

Me too. But I am disappointed he keeps lending his name and signing off on poop

Exactly! I thought there would be a crowd waiting when she returned outside the door.

I thought how the heck did they allow her behind the wheel? Out of everyone they let her drive? Especially after the army guy saw her try to take drugs when she wasn't acting "all there" in the first place.

I think I will continue to watch just to see what the monsters look like.

...And the guy who plays the dad (of the girl that was raped), is really distracting because he looks like he is straight from The Brady Bunch.

I always laugh when I read your posts Scorp! Yeah, there's something off about him in the part of a dad. That scene didn't feel right when he was trying to be best friends with the daughter and let her go to the party. I think he might have been miscast in this.

I keep expecting to hear The Brady Bunch theme song notes musical_score .

I see his photo on The Mist home page here and I think he really is a good looking guy, but the curly do AND he always seems to have a surprised or "who me?" expression.
