Well I just binge-watched Season 1, Episodes 1-5 so beware that there will be spoilers ahead...

So far I am not liking the change in this TV series in regards to the mist itself.

In the original book (or novella if you prefer) as well as the movie from 2007 the mist seems to have strange and weird creatures inspired by H.P. Lovecraft that possibly came from some portal that Arrowhead (the military) managed to open. I love all that. I find the concept interesting and horrifying. I think it worked great in both forms (literature and film).

However, In this TV series, we seem to be getting none of that (at least not so far) and that's fine if they were just 'dragging things out' by trying not to show too much early on but it seems that they are going into a different direction. For instance we have bugs that can mutate your body (the guy outside the Church for instance) and some weird shadow creature that sucks your soul / life force from you.

What the hell ???

These are fundamental changes and I for one don't like it.

If I had any self control I would stop watching but I probably will watch the rest of Season 1 since I've seen half of it so far and I am curious where it goes but I'm not digging it and I'm very disappointed so far.

Am I being too harsh here? Anyone else feel the same way or maybe you feel differently?
