And they're saying that it's "atrocious" and "Scott Buck's worst work yet". Ouch.
That's only for the pilot so I'll see if it picks up in a few episodes.

It definitely has some room to grow and improve but it wasn't horrible

I saw it and it wasn't as horrible as the critics are making it out to be. I go on my own opinion. Too many times critics overpraise or trash movies and tv shows and then I find that I either end up hating them or think they weren't so bad after all.
The actor that played Maximus was the best of the cast. I was intrigued by him. The dog is adorable.
The show needs time to grow but I liked it better than Iron Fist.

It's not horrible, just really badly written.
Maximus is supposed to be intelligent, but his plan would have never succeeded if not for one person being a total dumbass. Yes, one person with very poor lack of judgement is to blame for everything that happened and it wasn't due to Maximus's ingenuity. That's how poorly written this show was. Maximus called this person smart, but was obviously mistaken.
I hated that Attilan looked like a shopping center/hotel inside a bunker. I hated how underpowered Medusa was portrayed. I hated how almost all the people of Attilan looked human. I'll begrudgingly watch the rest of the series when it comes out, only because I have nothing else to watch while waiting for Agents of Shield to return. Hopefully, it'll get better but I don't hold up too much hope while Scott Buck remains its showrunner.
Also, I should add if anyone is wondering, part of the setup relies that the viewer has watched Agents of Shield to understand how Inhumans exist on Earth and why people hate them. The most you get from these episodes is a throw away line that references events in the other show. So if you've never seen Agents of Shield you'd probably won't figure it out from that one line.

Maybe they will get a new show runner.
The actors who played Maximus and Black Bolt saved it for me.

I hope for a new show runner too, however I'm afraid this may be a one a done "mini series " and not given time to improve like AoS did

I've noticed this lately. There hardly seems to be any middle ground. Mediocre things get excessively praised, and things that are not good but not terrible get absolutely slated.

Well it arrives tomorrow and given the complete lack of buzz, hype and what can be translated to interest, or lack there of, I think Marvel TV and Disney have squandered a pretty good set of characters.
Curious though it looks like finally Marvel-TV are indeed just now trying to make some connections between Inhumans and AoS ? Too late!!

It's more Marvel TV's fault then Disney. Marvel TV is still mainly controlled by the folks at Marvel Comics themselves (Ike Perlmutter, Jeph Loeb, etc), as Kevin Feige (Disney's Marvel go-to guy) doesn't want to involve himself with the TV shows. Who knew Marvel itself would put out such cheap crap...well we sort of knew (due to Iron Fist) since Perlmutter and Scott Buck was involved in its decision making. The only reason Agents of Shield looks so good is because the Whedons' are still the showrunners (who have a good relationship with Disney Marvel so can lower costs by recycling sfx, props, costumes and sets from the movies, which I wish this show did).
Oh, they do mention the events in AoS during the first 2 episodes (aka the movie) in an easy to miss throw away line (especially if you've never seen AoS or haven't caught up with it yet).
What was I expecting with the Inhumans? Mainly, something like Nightbreed.

It's pretty good. Lockjaws CGI isn't great, especially when interacting with the actors, but the character itself seems fine. Definitely going to be watching this next week.

That's what happens every time when FOX tries to make a Marvel TV-show or movie - they basically suck ass!

Fox makes great Marvel tv shows like Legion and The Gifted, this is an ABC show. Try harder next time.
