In fact that is where they originated and I am surprised that it was not tied to that Series, in fact last season or the previous season, Agents of SHIELD made a point of brining Inhumans to the fore front. I am surprised that there was not more references to that series or had SHIELD involved in some capacity. In addition I think the season premier moved very quickly, after we got introduced to the main characters, Maximus began his coup, I would have liked to see that developed a bit.

They kinda did, just not directly. The girl at the start was a new Inhuman, so the events from AOS are clearly referenced.

They mention the terrigen spread in the oceans which is something that strictly occurred on Agents of Shield (didn't happen in the comics nor was something mentioned in the movies). Terrigen was spread in the air in the comics. If you never watched Agents of Shield (or aren't caught up) you would have missed that reference. Also the populous of the Earth know or heard about the Inhumans (even the surfers), which occurred during Agents of Shield as well.

Episode 3, an Earth Inhuman mentions being covered in rock during metamorphosis, which is a thing in Agents of Shield. The terrigen process on the moon doesn't do that. He also mentions the government causing disappearances of Inhumans, which was another event in Agents of Shield with Senator Nadeer behind the disappearances.
