The next to last was a blast! ********************Spoiler*****************************
I'm really glad they solved the murder before the end of the season. The preview for the season finale said it best: "There are still secrets left to discover." And lots to set up for Season 2.
What's funny was that when Mr. Cooper revealed the big family secret, I shrugged and said pretty much what the Blossoms did. (So? They're distant enough kin to marry by law, sooooo....more Blossom in the pedigree!)
It was smart of Cheryl to pick up on the fact, so Jason must have been running away from something else. ( Did you catch the look on Cheryl's face when the Coopers said the word "Incest!"?)
Mr Cooper has redeemed himself a little. All he ever cared about was protecting his family.
Stop reading if you don't know who the murderer is. ***Spoiler*****
You are right. There must be more to the story. When Betty called to warn Cheryl (although some may think that is not who Betty called), Cheryl was not afraid. If Mr. Blossom could kill Jason, then he could kill Cheryl too, but she didn't run. I hope there is an explanation as to why there was a camera in that room and why Mr. Blossom wasn't aware of it.
I think Cheryl didn't run because she and her mother already suspected the truth, based on what was in the barn. They wanted justice for Jason, and her weird mother was on her side for once.
Betty called Cheryl and told her to get out, that is the Betty thing to do. The best thing about the town of Riverdale is that even when the kids fight, they always have each others backs. There was no way that someone as sweet as Betty would leave someone like Cheryl alone in a house with a man who killed his own son. By Cheryl has been playing sleuth this whole time. By the time Betty called, Cheryl was pretty sure her father did it, she just needed Betty to confirm it for her.
I think the snakes hid the camera in the basement of their hangout long ago for "insurance" purposes. Or to send video to the family to prove they had Jason and that he was alive. I don't recall--was Blossom behind the kidnapping, or did he show up later and shoot Jason instead of paying the ransom?
I think the kidnapping was all FP's idea. He never dreamed the Blossoms didn't want Jason back. I think the Dad saw an opportunity to kill Jason and have the kidnappers blamed.

Betty does have a bad side though!!! Hopefully next season they explore that more!
Call me Pollyanna, but I hope that Betty's bad side only comes out when she feels lost and unloved, two things she will never be with Jughead at her side.
