Frequent references to him not having the stomach for the family business like a Blossom should.
Dad Blossom tells Cheryl, "You're a Blossom," implying that Jason is not.
SPOILER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dad Blossom kills Jason. Not his son.
So, what's the deal?
There's another kid the same age who looks a lot like Jason: Archie. I think somehow Archie and Jason were switched at birth in some hospital mishap or something. Archie is a Blossom and Cheryl's real brother. Jason was Fred and Mary Andrews' kid. At some point the Blossom parents learned the truth, but decided it was too late, so they said nothing and continued to groom Jason as the heir apparent since he looked like a Blossom and was male.
This is why the Blossom parents are so smitten with Archie and jump at the chance to bring him into the Blossom fold, even if it means pairing him with his own sister. Only the parents would ever know, so no scandal. They're also excited about Polly's babies not because they're Jason's, but because with Polly's blood and Jason's believed parentage, they will truly be Blossom heirs.

Wow! You are really creative. Jason and Archie switched at birth is genius. I doubt the writers have anything that creative in store for us. It did seem weird to have another family of redheads in town when Archie is supposed to be the iconic redhead.

Interesting theory, especially since I think the actor who plays Jason Blossom looks alot like Molly Ringwald, who plays Mary Andrews. However, I don't think the show will go in the direction of Archie Andrews being the secret twin of Cheryl Blossom.
