Enjoyed this episode. Good cheezy fun.
Maybe I'm showing my age, but sharing a bed during a sleepover is considered gay? Isn't sharing a bed what sleepovers are all about? (In my day it's only gay if your pajamas end up on the floor.)
It seems a little weird that it's Toni Cheryl comes out to, and not Kevin, considering Kevin is out and Cheryl and Kevin are practically besties. I think the writers missed an opportunity here, since Kevin in the comic is so iconic since he's exactly the sort of character that kids can come out to.
Poor Kevin. He really took a beating this episode. First Josie tells him his Dad is cheating on his Mom, which might have been the right thing to do if Kevin's mom wasn't currently in a warzone. Now he has to decide whether to tell his Mom, who doesn't need any more stress, or keep this from her, and stew in guilt as he plans a future around joint custody.
Was pretty intrigued about Moose, Midge, and Kevin being a triad. Of course it was a false alarm. (For now.) The look discomfort on Kevin's face when he said "Why the hell not" when his boyfriend's girlfriend invited him to come sit with them. Great acting!
The four leads are getting on my nerves a bit. Good to see the supporting cast get some love. Now if we could just see more Reggie.
Veronica's overprotective pappi sends our four leads into the woods for a "romantic getaway", and nobody suspects a ruse? Not even while Serpents call to confirm it was a ruse? And even when Betty's mom calls, Archie and Veronica's still arguing it's not a ruse? Archie's just gullible to buy the "I want my daughter protected from the rival clans for a weekend." (Send her to New York with a Sak's goldcard.) But when he said bring Betty and Jughead to round out the orgy...yeah. He wants you all out of town while he does some funny business.
Hiram bought the only newspaper in Riverdale? Oh no. Too bad there is no other way to get the news out, like online, maybe?
Jughead saying "Bughead" and "Vughead"? Please no. Not even ironically. It's totally out of character and way too much of a fourth wall break.
Jughead and Archie totally should have kissed.
Veronica does a lot of social drinking for a highschool sophomore. I'm not sure what percentage of her time at parties she has a wine glass or a margarita, but if she keeps this up she's not going to age well.
Was I the only one who saw the home invasion coming? The whole time Veronica was running her mouth at the shop my hackles were up. "Oh, my parents aren't here. It's just us two buxom fifteen year old girls and our friends. In the cabin on the lake. The really huge one. You can't miss it. Nobody else around within screaming distance. Thanks, cutie, can you break a hundred? "
Archie just sitting there glowering, while lightly armed guys in black hoods threaten his friends? Including taking his girlfriend into a bedroom? I don't think so. He would have lost his damn mind and attacked like a pitbull, if the script didn't hold him back.
