Favorite part for me ... Mmasita busts out and shows her true essence. Her speech to Pauline at the diner. omg Her marketing overview of the industry culled from census bureau statistics she found at the library ending with "Keep your head up. Your day is coming." gave me chills. Here's a link to an article about it. "Mamasita is a Feminist Badass. https://www.bustle.com/p/mamacita-from-feud-is-a-feminist-badass-43099
Also breaking out ... Pauline, wanting to direct the script she wrote. Even today there is an exasperating shortage of women directors. I personally know two here in Hollywood, one of whom an award winning writer producer with 4 Emmy noms on hit series. The other, Mary Lambert, Madonna's former video director (who directed Pet Semetary). And here's a link to that and English actress Alison Wright's (Pauline) view on the subject. "Punch in the Gut", the scene where A-hole Bob Aldrich slams the glass ceiling on her heart, hope and 'audacious' dream. From Vanity Fair: http://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2017/03/feud-recap-season-1-episode-4-more-or-less-alison-wright-pauline-interview The great irony here being that Jack Warner just did the same thing to him. "You think I have the potential to be great?" "No."
Of course the audience giving the film a cheering standing ovation after the preview. The joy of Bette's revival and the joy of despicable Joan's jealousy.
I live just blocks away from the Santa Monica Civic auditorium where the Oscars were held for BabyJane. Will be interesting to see that scene.
The kitsch song "What Ever Happened to Baby Jane" sung by Davis on the Andy Williams Show was hysterical.
