Discuss FEUD

I found these videos in a YouTube channel of Joan Crawford being interviewed. It's from the BBC. She looks to be in her sixties. She talks about her acting method and her co-stars. She gives some important insight into film making. There is a few questions about her experience filming What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? And Joan says something about Bette Davis. It wasn't rude at all. What a dignified women. She's so professional. Not anything at all like interviews with Bette Davis.

Part 2 talk of her early career and ambitions.https://youtu.be/EDO70ac3Q58

Part 3 scenes from Baby Jane. https://youtu.be/xqLdB7hiHE0

And the second video is a rare performance of Joan singing. https://youtu.be/W3tAsM_tMRQ

I think Joan realized that public statements against Bette just looked awful and she is better than that. Last night, I think it was George Cuckor the director who recommended to her not to make her own sentiments so public, and she tried to make an approach to Bette which didn't work. Still, I felt so bad for her when she called the New York actresses Geraldine Page and Anne Bancroft to see if they were attending and they realized how much she needed to be at that presentation.

If you actually watched the videos you would know the truth. Eveey reaction she gives the interviewer is genuine and classy. Not contrived at all. When she does say something negative, it's really toned down quite a bit.

This TV show is for sensationalism only. I watch it because I thought that it would portray Joan authentically. But it doesn't.

I guess they had an agenda to make them both seem over the top for this tv show, but I expected that. The other vid on Joan that was recommended here on Amazon was actually put together by people she worked with, assistant directors, producers, Cliff Robertson and Diane Baker to rebuff the whole Mommie Dearest debacle (books and movie) that smeared Joan's reputation. It seemed like a love letter at the end. Too bad she wasn't alive to see it.

Keeping in mind that the television show will sensationalize anything that happened there is some truth to it. Which makes me think how hard it must have been for these women to be pitted against each other because the town wasn't big enough for the both of them. Granted, they may not have liked each other personally but they were made to claw each others eyes out. Pretty much for the entertainment of others.

Unfortunately, pitting women against women still occurs today.

They weren't made to claw each other's eyes out. That's part of this disgusting show. I cannot believe that after all this time, that dignified utmost professional hardworking actress Joan Crawford is STILL being made to look like a villain.

I take back everything I have said about the performances of Susan Surandon and Jessica Lange. They should have been ashamed to be in this B level tv series about sensationalized sensationalism.

I was surprised to see in the credits that Susan Sarandon and Jessica Lange are also producers on this show. You can be sure that there were lawyers that made sure no one was left to produce a law suit. Anyone who even might have caused trouble was probably asked to sign an agreement and paid a fee for their trouble. But that would have been before the show was produced!

Lady Gigi, you seem to be a huge Joan Crawford fan like I am. You might like checking out her TMDb message board, that has a number of threads on it. Here's the link to it:

I'm with you, that I find it tiresome how it's popular to vilify Joan, and to make like she somehow, in any type way, is perhaps below Bette Davis' stature, as terrific of a mega-star outstanding and charismatic actress as Joan was, with such career longevity as she had, and as devoted to professionalism and to her fans as she was, and how truly talented. I'm a fan of her from Silent era, straight through to the end of her acting years. She's my all-time favourite actress.

I've not seen any of FEUD, and have no desire to. I've seen so many Crawford and Davis films, respectively, that I don't think I'd be able to take anyone seriously, portraying either one of them.

Hi. It's good to see another Crawford fan! Thanks for the link.
