I didn't like how they portrayed the people of Wallachia as irredeemably horrible people. They brought what was happening on themselves and they treated all that were trying to help them like crap, as well as try to kill them. Besides that, Dracula gave a year's warning to everyone. Throughout, I was wondering why anyone would want to save them.

Yes, but I think it is a wonderful way to start the story. Where you see the reason behind the bad guy's motivations instead of him being evil for evil sake.

I don't think they portrayed the people as irredeemably horrible. It's pretty common for terrified mobs of people to behave in reprehensible ways.

It wasn't just the mobs, it was also every villager encountered. There was not one decent or likeable person that wasn't a Seeker or Bellmont. I couldn't see any reason that they shouldn't just left them to their fate, they really did bring on themselves. Anyone not deserving likely left already, as they had a year to do so.

Well, they didn't knowingly bring it on to themselves. They were manipulated by the church.

Still after a giant head of fire tells you that the country is doomed after a year, anyone who felt undeserving should have left. Everyone who remained was just asking for it. I'd understand if they stayed because they wanted to see if they can help others (like the Seekers), but no they make it seem everyone who stayed just did so to be dicks.

I'm sure most people who actually saw "Satan" give his message left. Then there are those that didn't personally see it that thought it was a BS rumor and still again there are others so brainwashed by the church that the clergy probably said some BS like "God is on our side and no one can defeat us" and they dopedly replied "Uh-duh, OK, George". Darwin award nominees I guess.

I just hope in future episodes, they actually show some people with common decency. Otherwise, if I was Belmont or the Seekers, I'd just say screw'em. At this time, I just don't feel for anyone killed.

That is exactly the point. This is the reason it's so good. Because it takes a standard action, adventure story and shows it in a completely different light.
The show doesn't care that you don't like how the people are portrayed. The show will bust conventions, do what it wants to do. It doesn't give a fuck.

Re-watching season 1 to get re-aquatinted before starting season 2 and the people aren’t that black and white. The citizens of Gresit, once they see the church exposed bond together with Belmont and fight well against the horde. I think the show is just trying to show the vice like grip the Church had on the people’s hearts and minds. Not too difficult back in un-enlightened times. When you believe you will burn in hell if you don’t do exactly as a guy in a robe says, that’s incredible power.

Just finished watching season 2. So yeah, the Doctor was originally turned into the inquisition by a patient she was aiding. And the first humans we're introduced to after humanity was saved from annihilation through their own doing, by the only descent people in the world, try to murder someone for parts to sell and eat the rest. What did we learn? If your not a Belmont, Seeker or Alucard, then you're a piece of shit in the Castlevania world (sigh).
