... Excerpts from ‘Young Sheldon’ Spinoff in the Works at CBS, Focusing on New Parents Georgie and Mandy :
“Young Sheldon” may be ending its run, but that’s not the end of the line for “The Big Bang Theory” universe. According to insiders, CBS is nearing a deal with Warner Bros. TV for a direct-to-series order on a “Young Sheldon” spinoff that focuses on the characters of Georgie and Mandy. (Both CBS and Warner Bros. TV declined comment.)
“Young Sheldon” executive producers Steve Holland, Steven Molaro and Chuck Lorre would be behind the spinoff series as well, and are expected to write the first episode together. And here’s the twist: The Georgie and Mandy spinoff is being planned as a multi-camera comedy — unlike the single-camera “Young Sheldon.”
That could rep the first time that a multi-camera sitcom (“The Big Bang Theory”) was spun off to a single-camera comedy (“Young Sheldon”), which then in turn is spun-off back to another multi-camera show. Stars Montana Jordan and Emily Osment, who play Georgie and Mandy on “Young Sheldon,” are currently in talks to reprise their roles on the proposed spinoff.
The “Young Sheldon” spinoff is separate from the “Big Bang Theory” spinoff that Lorre also has in the works at Max, via his overall deal at Warner Bros. Television. That one is believed to be an hour-long series featuring a mostly new cast with potential for known “Big Bang” stars to appear in guest spots.

I like both Georgie and Mandy a lot and I think this show has done a great job of getting us invested in the rest of Sheldon's family. With that said I think Young Sheldon is going to have to concentrate on making them even more captivating characters in Season 7 to hook viewers for a spin-off.

Wondering if we'll be seeing any of these former (still?) ‘supporters’ in the spinoff:
-1 Pastor Rob (The glint in Mary's eye?): His last appearance with Mary and her rival(?) just did not seem like an adequate ending to what appears to be their mutual attraction. (Every time I see Pastor Rob and Mary together, I always think of TBBT's “demon weasel” episode.)
-2 Brenda (George’s Pompadour?): What happened to Brenda? She has been MIA for-a-minute! Unless I’ve missed something, she and the Coopers are still neighbors. The chicken-house-rendezvous romance(?) seems to have gone the way of the dodo.
-3 Billy (or...as I like to say…Zack-in-training): Pretty sure he ends up working for Georgie; but it would be nice to have his fated-future finalized.
-4 Paige (Young Sheldon’s “Dennis Kim?”): A wrap-up of her character actually isn’t necessary. Unlike the others, I don’t really see her storyline as a loose end. It’s just that I liked the actress; especially, how well she plays off Sheldon AND Missy. When it comes to acting...she's a natural!

Good question. I guess as long as Georgie and Mandy don't move, which I don't think they did based on grown up Georgie's comments on the Big Bang Theory, anybody is fair game. They're not all that close to Pastor Rob, Brenda, Billy or Paige though. I think the person Georgie and Mandy are closest to is Meemaw. Wonder if we'll be seeing her?

It seems logical that they would see as much of Meemaw as always since they live in the same general(?) area AND CeeCee is her first great-grand. (I say “general” area because we don’t know (do we?) how far Meemaw lives from Audrey and Jim?
But, I'm thinking how much we see Meemaw may depend on when(?)/where(?) the spinoff picks up…
We already know that Georgie will be "his mama's rock" during the tough times head. And, as close as the family is, I can’t see Meemaw being anywhere but in the thick of things—helping Georgie hold the family together.
However, if there is a big enough “time jump”; then, maybe we will not see as much of Meemaw as before. I think this especially may be true since he and Meemaw are no longer partners-in-
(the chief source of their together-time).

Now we know the new show's title: "Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage."
So apparently they split up at some point, and then get married again later.

If it's successful, the next title would be "Georgie & Mandy's Second Marriage".

It doesn't necessarily mean their first marriage to each other (implying that they will remarry each other). Just their first marriage in general. I took it to mean they would eventually get divorced but not sure if they get back together. Or maybe I'm forgetting something that was said on The Big Bang Theory. Y'all can correct me if I'm forgetting something.

Or "Georgie & Mandy's First Divorce."

The "Georgie & Mandy" combination part arguably does suggest that they will marry each other again in the future, since it's not just "Georgie's First Marriage" or something else.
In the final episodes where Sheldon and Amy win the Nobel, Sheldon gets text messages from "My brother's first wife" and "My brother's second wife" as well as Meemaw etc. No names are given. But since Sheldon does specify "second wife" separately and received two separate messages, it suggests that Georgie might have been married to someone else for a while, and then got married to Mandy again. Although Sheldon didn't say "first and third wife" so.... But maybe they just hadn't thought of that yet.

It's all semantics. Most viewers don't have an eidetic memory.

And neither did Sheldon, if the next joke required that he not.

Without an eidetic memory, Sheldon will just remember Missy as someone who tried to strangle him while, , mistaking him for a rocket scientist.

Yes, but, there were many occasions in TBBT where things would not have happened as they did, if Sheldon really had the eidetic memory. And it's not just about his "enemies list" on the floppy disk that failed.
Sheldon on multiple occasions said he had it, but as I put it earlier, if some joke required that he not have it for 30 seconds, then he didn't. And then he had it again for the joke after that.
