Discuss The Orville

Obviously, this is a STTNG rip-off with one exception. No transporters. What's up with that. Maybe they have something planned later on. So far the show is tolerable. It's like Next Gen rewrites with dick jokes, drinking, and drug references.

This series already pushes the limit with their Star Trek Influence, I imagine their legal team sat down with CBS and Paramount and were given what they can and cannot use, I imagine having an active Transporter on this series was one of them. In fact I am surprised they allowed Brannon Braga to be part of this series, he has been involved with Star Trek since 94 when he was a writer on TNG, I figured CBS and Paramount would have blocked him, he is as much an influence as Seth, who is a big Star Trek Fan. As much as they push the limit with what they can use, there are probably things that they are not allowed to use and most likely Transporters is one of them.
