Discuss The Orville

What do you think so far?

I had hopes for this series, but now I'm finding it very difficult to sit through some very stupid story lines. Like episode 7... it is stupid and ridiculous...

I'm still watching because there isn't anything else to watch. I watch Supernatural at 8:00 pm, The Orville at 9:00 pm, and then Chicago Fire at 10:00pm. It's not the worst show I've seen but I wouldn't fret if I missed an episode.

No reason to miss one, they're available online within hours.

I thought it did well in making fun of all the reality and contest shows we have these days. A true democracy.

It was kinda like the "mirror" episodes of Trek though, in that there's really no way they'd have developed to be practically identical to modern Earth - with all the same cars, etc - if anyone who got 10 million down-votes was "corrected."

The Original Trek series had a Mobster Planet and a Nazi Planet. I don't think Orville having a Twitter Planet is not any worse then those.

No worse, no. But not really any less ridiculous either.

Just out of curiousity, what exactly did you find stupid about the story line in the Majority Rule episode?

Ill admit that "A Piece of the Action" was a ridiculous episode. But it was also one of my favorites.

Also the Roman planet and wherever Miri was from.

Does going back to earths past count?

TOS also had a planet where the women could heal any wound but apparently couldn't speak.

Hey, that's a GREAT idea! grinning

I'm still watching and I have no plans to stop.

I'm enjoying it so far. I'll hang for a while.

Well that was sexist.

I like that about you.

Majority Rule was just too real. Just like the crazy things of last week happening in the (social) media.

Btw I love the show.

I freaking love this show. I hate McFarlane but gave it a chance anyway.

If I had a vote as to whether The Orville or STD was given a second year, I'd take The Orville without any hesitation.
