Well the funniest scene of the season for me occurred in this episode. It was the Latchcomb (?) game played at the beginning. I was expecting it to explode into something gross or maybe just be pointless where the sphere was just tossed back and forth endlessly, but when the spike shot through his hand and the aliens celebrated gleefully, I laughed pretty hard.
You are welcome. What's weird though there is/was a 13th episode, so technically what he watched on Thursday wasn't the original season finale. I read that they pushed the 13th episode to the second season.
If they made a 13th episode that hasn't been shown yet, maybe it ended with some kind of cliffhanger and they'll use it for a 2-episode season premiere instead.
I also read that the second season might not start until late fall. I think that is a big mistake if true, it's not that firmly established yet and waiting so long to air the second season might backfire when the viewers they have now move on to something else? 10 months is a long time.
WHile they explained why the superstition would grow up around Kelly, they didn't explain why it would include American/European features such as stained-glass windows and papal tiaras. it looked like MacFarlands's stereotyped notions of "what religion looks like".
Network suits seem to treat TV schedules like chessboards to move pieces around on, without thinking of the effects on viewers' loyalties. I remember last year they kept postponing the return of Sarah Michelle Gaylor's show after the fall, leading many viewers to think it had been cancelled. They also lost a crucial actor while they were playing games, forcing them to rewrite the rest of the season.

No, she had one a couple of years ago, but it got cancelled because everybody stopped watching after a 2-month hiatus. She played a poor girl who tried to impersonate her rich twin sister (also played by Geller)

That may be, but I suspect more people would come back to The Orville after 10 months, than will come back to Star Trek: Discovery after 2.

When the Captain is talking to Kelly, I'm surprised it didn't refer to the game as "Alien Hot Potato".

I may have mis-spelled her name. The actress that played Buffy.
