spoiler-ish
The first episode starts with a dramatic scene of destruction and death. Then it moves on to the beginning of the story, presenting the characters, yadda yadda. I hate this sort of beginning, where you see a glimpse of the future, and then have to spend the rest of the movie/episode waiting for the thing to happen. It's unnecessary, and for me it ruins the pace. The slow scenes become an impatient drag.
I really liked The Expanse, and if SyFy chose to cancel that to make this series, they did a bad decision. (Luckily Amazon caught The Expanse, and will keep the show going!)

I fell asleep through a few of the episodes. Tho my mate would recap it later for me. He's a tried & true sci-fi buff. He last recapped, "Well, nothing much happened..."
We're seeing the last ep tomorrow. Been a long, dragged out journey. It's more of a soap opera than a sci-fi. The main actor is wonky / wooden.
We liked The Expanse heaps too (anticipating the new season)! Altered Carbon, Westworld & Travelers were dope too. Skip Dr Who and Lost in Space; complete rubbish, but we kinda forced ourselves to finish 'em.
Long live sci-fi~~ Btw they're releasing a Deadwood tv-film soon... might have to re-watch the masterful series again.
