OK, from all I could read about this, I don't see more than 38 episodes mentioned. IMDB only shows 13 episodes, so it must not be up to date.

episode 38, part 1

Sule is depressed as Berserk reminds her of her birthday. She doesn't want to celebrate it, she tells him. Why? he wants to know. She says it seems silly, and adds:

"Once someone is born, there is no turning back."

That is an odd way of looking at it, with a negative spin on it. It's similar to saying "Once you begin eating food, you are hooked on it the rest of your life", or "Once a person begins breathing, it's a life long habit, impossible to break".

Excrement seems fond of Berserk now, and only somewhat bothered that he is still investigating him. He calls at one point and tells him that he would be amazed if he knew the corruption in the upper echelons of government, and he would drink more heavily if he knew for whom he was working, and what they do. He implies that Berserk will discover he is working for the wrong side. Of course, Berserk has only ever seen himself as working to get justice for victims, and to be able to look at himself in the mirror without shame at compromising his principles, so he isn't too concerned with whatever crimes his superiors are committing at the moment.

When the retirement home manager's body is found Berserk's boss is overcome with anxiety, frustration, and fear of blowback and loss of his job. These murders just have to stop! It looks bad that we can't stop shithead! Think of how it reflects on me.

The Istanbul kill squad was called back to Istanbul. One of them had already fled there after his family was threatened. That shows the difficulty of going after psychopaths and others who don't recognize or follow societal norms, and recognized rules of combat. Civilized people cannot turn those tables on the bad guys, cannot threaten their families. But in some Muslim countries I have heard they will jail the family members of terrorists or criminals on the run, or those who refuse to talk. In this way they break them. Western nations cannot do that, it runs against our notions of justice. But intelligence agencies may turn suspects over to such nations if they are allies, and let them get information we cannot. That is possibly crossing a line since we know what they will do, but it is one way to combat them.

When Pablo Escobar was waging his war of terror against the Columbian government in the late 80s and early 90s he killed indiscriminately in bombing campaigns. Later he began targeting the family members of government and other influential members of society, not with murder but with kidnappings and demands. Some he killed, but he ultimately got the government to rescind a law allowing extradition of drug lords to the US. He saw family members as the soft underbelly of the government.

The police and the army could never catch him. The technology wasn't advanced enough to track his phone calls accurately at that time. And he paid so many people to inform him of any movements of police or army units that he knew well in advance when and where they would be. Virtually the whole town of Medellin informed him. And he had dozens of hitmen to go after any suspected of working against him. The inability of the government to stop this man and his ragtag army of lowlifes was a global embarrassment, and it exposed the whole country to a wave of terror.

The way he was finally brought down was interesting. It was never revealed whether the CIA had a hand in this, but you can bet they did. An organization called Los Pepes (which stood for people persecuted by Pablo Escobar) began to kill his support structure, all the people who helped him, his hitmen, the families of his associates, his accountants, attornies, and anyone else they could determine was giving him any sort of aide. They would leave the bodies on display in public places with signs on them "Merry Christmas Pablo, Los Pepes", and stuff like that. Pablo became desperate to get his immediate family out of Columbia to a safe neutral country, but no one would take them. It didn't help that he had put a bomb on an airplane once, and that he threatened Germany to take his family or he would blow their planes out of the air. He became more and more isolated, living on the run, as his former associates began turning themselves in to the government to avoid being tortured for information and then slaughtered by Los Pepes. After he was finally killed, many people began wringing their hands over the possibility that the CIA might have given information, training, or other forms of aide to the paramilitary group Los Pepes, and demanding that they be prosecuted. I thought that was fairly stupid, but may have been a face saving PR operation. As a practical matter, it is beyond stupid and even suicidal to restrict yourself to Queensbury Rules of fighting if your opponent comes at you with a knife and the intention of taking your life. When someone conducts a campaign of unrestricted warfare against you, you must respond in whatever manner serves to defeat them, in my opinion. After WWII many criticized a British general Harris, I think, for his fire bombing of German cities. To me that was a one sided, hypocritical position. None of those people wanted to stop him when the outcome of the war was in question. Hitler indiscriminately bombed civilians in Britain for years. Allied bombers couldn't accurately bomb those sites to wipe out military bases and war production, so wide area bombing made sense. And, who started it anyway? In short, when your enemy offers you violence, breaking normal and civilized rules of behavior, the proper response is to give that violence back in spades, in a brutal and overwhelming manner. The fault lies with the enemy for the resulting damages.

But that is hardly germane to this story. Does anyone know who Excrement really is? And Berserk isn't about to start killing his support staff. That is not how he plays the game.

Berserk lied to Esra when she asked if shithead had called him again. I bet she can read him and knows when he lies to her.

Moron is getting married today, unless something happens to change that. That cheap bastard wasn't satisfied when the barber gave him a groom's discount. He tried to bargain him down, and was his normal inconsiderate, insulting, dismissive and repulsive self. It would be nice if someone returned his behavior toward him. If he insults the barber, I would like the barber to tell him, "sure I can trim the hair on your neck and make it neat and sharp looking. But there is nothing I can do to hide your gut. You're just fat."

As Excrement continues killing members of the powerful elite's support team, and Berserk's investigation continues to uncover the people who secretly work for and support them, the elite may begin covering themselves from exposure by killing off their own support people, any they believe are at risk of discovery and subsequent pressure to expose them. If this happens, there is no need for a "los pepes" in this story. The elite team will begin to canibalize themselves.

The groom isn't suppose to see the bride getting ready for the wedding; it portends bad things for the marriage. But Moron doesn't care that he walked in on Melhia getting ready. I guess he knows there isn't any hope for happiness anyway. He's unable to face the day, and begins hitting the bottle. I'm betting he shows up drunk and ruins the day. What an ass. Ghost and Vulture show up to support their friend. Seeing him feeling uncomfortable, and unaware that he has already been hitting the bottle, Ghost offers him a "sip" to "take the edge off". But Moron declines. That is a good thing. He cannot blame it on them later. Cevo meets the parents as Asli introduces him. They seem to like his appearance and manners. The hall is full of people now. This is a disaster waiting to happen. There is no way Moron can get through this without a misstep of some kind, and likely one of major proportions. Maybe I'm wrong, but I doubt it. Melhia gave him every opportunity to back out of this marriage that he stubbornly went into for all the wrong reasons.

Switch to Memduh facing execution. He requests a side shot so the exit wound won't be in his face. He still has his pride I guess. I am used to these people, but still amazed at their callousness, and the way Memduh negotiates. Excrement killed three of that guy's men, including his bodyguard. Memduh's response is 'so what? you already have another one'. You can tell he isn't from the How to Win Friends and Influence People school. But his tactics bought him one more chance to kill Excre. Or he dies. Same deal as before, but one more chance at it.

It seems everyone at the table is taking notice of Esra's breasts. It's hard to miss them. The guys must be telling themselves (speak slowly and carefully, no Freudian slips here).

Here comes the ostensibly happy couple! I'm impressed that Moron isn't drunk. Will he begin secretly taking a nip now and then? He remains seated, looking like a man on death row, but insisting he is happy. Cevo has a special request for the homicide department to dance with the groom. Now he has to get up from his seat. What happens if Eda shows up now? If he starts dancing with her? If he finds out she broke up with Selim? hahaha. Moron shifts his unhappiness to anger, choosing Cevo as his target, Cevo, who is acting like a gentleman and wishing him well. He is beginning to unravel. He doesn't want to get up from his seat. He doesn't want to dance. OH SHIT! Eda just walked in. And she looks beautiful. NOW Moron jumps up and wants to dance! Now he urges the captain and the others to dance "to say fuck you to life".

Not your normal wedding theme. But the loyal homicide squad can't let him down so they agree to dance with him. It's a weird, airplane looking, arms outward dance, the men in a circle, taking turns being the plane in the middle. Now Eda joins the circle. I have paused to write this. Suddenly death row boy is all smiles and happiness. You couldn't hammer that smile off of his face as he watches Eda dancing, his tongue is almost hanging out. You have to know that somewhere, Melhia is watching this. And she knows she has never seen him smile before, or act as happy as he is. And she will see that he is smitten with Eda. Melhia is very perceptive. I think she will speak to him about this, and he will lie about it, and she will understand in that moment exactly what is going on, and realize what her life with him will be like. I think she is going to end it here. Pressing play to check. OMG, Moron noticed Eda's ring is gone, and he pressures Cevo to tell him why it's gone. Then Melhia calls him to dance with her, and he puts her on hold while he interrogates Cevo. How wonderful on her wedding dance, she is put on hold while he interrogates Cevo, and Cevo has to tell him the truth with a nod of his head. He is staring hard at Eda, who turns her gaze elswhere. Moron is coming undone. Now they are sitting at the wedding table for the ceremony. Fatboy is sweating and looking toward Eda. You can tell he is imagining that he has a chance with her now. He may even be imagining that she came there without her ring as some sort of 'message' to him. OK, I just watched him pause a long time and say Goddamn me and walk out leaving Melhia crying there. That Moron was given every chance to back out beforehand but he was too childish and stubborn and too much of a coward to admit the truth to her. I don't know what his particular form of mental disorder would be called, but there ought to be tons of money spent researching it and developing a cure. Moron is a walking disaster. To be fair to Ghost and Vulture, Berserk does lose it and beat the hell out of people as often as he handles things calmly and compassionately, so I sort of understand their extreme reticence to tell him. But given that he trusted Ghost and gave him specific instructions on tracking Selim and keeping him informed, I do blame Ghost and Vulture for keeping it all secret and hoping the problem would just go away.

But as far as Moron is concerned, nothing he has done this whole time can be excused or rationalized. I paused it with him sitting on that park bench after Berserk left in disgust, and Moron is screaming, blaming, Ghost and Vulture for betraying him by not telling him Eda and Selim had broken up. They ought to punch him in the mouth right now. What the hell kind of business is it of his if they are engaged or not? Moron told them all that he was over Eda and that he wanted to marry Melhia. In other words, Moron told them it didn't matter to him whether Eda was available or not, he was over her and he wanted to marry Melhia. Ghost and Vulture should kick his ass but good right now and stop him from shifting blame to them. They need to make him own up to his lies. That is the only way he will learn to stop lying. He must be forced to accept the responsibility for the results of his lies. They cannot let him keep shifting the blame, revising history, and acting as if they should have realized that it mattered to him. They need to throw his words back to him now, his insistence time and time again that he was over Eda, that he wanted to marry Melhia. He was adamant and became angry when they sought to verify it with him, to confirm it with him, to ask him to really think about it, etc. He insisted he was telling the truth. But now he blames them for not telling him something he claimed didn't matter to him, making them the scapegoat for the damage he has done and the pain he has caused. They need to slap that crybaby plea for sympathy, and his angry blame shifting nonsense out of his head.

I am still only halfway through the episode so I will stop here and watch the rest, and come back.

It truly is disgusting to listen to Moron blaming his friends for this disaster. "Nice fucking job. I will never trust you again." Talk about projecting. He ought to be saying those words into a mirror. He lied to everyone every step along the way. Berserk is partly to blame for this because he coddles the moron. He enables him, even sympathizes with him at times. But acting as a father figure means not letting the moron get away with blame shifting and lying. Berserk fails at that. It is wrong to blame Ghost and Vulture for this mess. They made mistakes, but the biggest mistake everyone makes is letting Moron lie to them without consequence, and even worse, letting him shift blame for it. Berserk should blame Moron for that. Anyone could see that the angry crybaby was going to meltdown at some point. It is a farce to start pointing fingers, to continue to shield the emotionally retarded crybaby from owning up to his lies and responsibilities. Honestly, it is disgusting to see them coddle and protect him, to humor him in his revisionist history, and his angry blaming of everyone but himself. They should show no mercy. Let him break down into a quivering mass, then have him committed. This is Moron's fault.
OK, I feel a little better now. Ghost and Vulture just told him off and left him there. Now I expect him to feel sorry for himself, avoid responsibility, and shift the blame to Cevo. That boy should be on his guard because the blubbering crybaby will probably seek to blame him and take it out on him now. But I hope the crowd steps in and kicks the living shit out of him if he does. OMG, Eda feels sorry for him. Dammit. He doesn't need sympathy now. He needs an ass kicking.

Who the hell is Ceyda? She threw something in Berserk's house and slapped him.

Now Eda says she felt guilty and wanted to know if he was getting married because of her. AND MORON ASKS HER WHY. You know what that means; it means he is searching to see if she has romantic feelings for him. Goddamn. I guess nobody can get that good for nothing slob to abandon his delusional fantasy. No matter how many times Eda tells him, even if she shouts it at him in the most brutally honest, direct language, and in no uncertain terms tells him she does NOT LIKE HIM, he won't accept it as true. Or he clings to some hope that maybe she will change her mind. Maybe if he eats a little more food, or is rude to someone else, or cares only about himself some more, maybe then she will love him. OMG, now he is blaming Eda that he isnt a married man now. She tried to express some compassion for another human being in pain, in spite of his total lack of admirable or redeeming qualities, and he blames her. He asks why do you care? Translation: if you don't love me like I want you to, then what difference is it to you? You don't love me, so it's your fault. Eda made a mistake. You cannot be a friend to this worthless excuse for a man. Still he asks "why did you come Eda?" He is still hoping she will say something like "I discovered I had feelings for you" or something like that, even though she has NEVER given him any reason to have the slightest hope in that direction. "I came to see how a mistake gets made" she tells him. Well, you can learn that by watching Moron any day, any time, anywhere. HA. I knew it. I was afraid he would try something on her. He kissed her. She better run because if his anger comes out and he may force himself on her. Good. She slapped him and hit him and shouted at him. And of course, the moron whines and cries about his unhappiness. He is only ever able to think of himself. As awful as this was for Melhia, she was a lucky lady tonight. She escaped marriage to Moron. The community benefited as well; the word will now go out about this inconsiderate, lying, slob. And he is still on the hook for that wedding dress. hahaha Perhaps Moron's parents will wake up to their son's lack of character and his revolting crybaby nature. They should run an ad in the paper apologizing for having him.

The police department should put him on leave until he can convince a psychiatrist that he is stable enough to work as a cop, in other words permanent leave. Moron could make some money by licensing abortion clinics to use his picture in their advertising. "Do you want to take the chance that you could have one of these?"

"If you werent going to let me, what are you implying? What?" Wow. If you express any sort of sympathy toward him, he thinks you want to sleep with him. That delusional bastard should be locked up in a mental ward. Girls should be warned; if you say anything to Moron at all, tell him to 'eat shit and die.' Otherwise he may try to fuck you. (pardon the language)

Everyone is a mess tonight. Berserk has lost it. Ceyda has lost it. It is the night of emotional carnage.

Vulture is flashing back to skinhead days in school. Who is his sweetheart? I am guessing she is the girl who slapped him. How long will they tease us with the backstory on this? Aha, they are eating some sort of fruit together. That is the same fruit Vulture eats in the office, and that he got angry at Selim for eating.
They end that flashback as the happy memory seems to end, as the young Vulture seems to discover something upon entering some residence or building. But we have to wait to find out the rest of the story. Bayzot awakens from his meltdown sleep when Serket calls. Again no shower. He just leaves. And drives into an ambush, but everybody misses. Moron is sleeping in the gutter and Eda calls him to respond. The team swings into action. Bayzot knows he will need to kill some people, not arrest them. Shithead is talking to a friend of Bayzot.

This team is falling apart. Now Moron decides they must talk. "We are all guilty" he tells them. And maybe he is more guilty than they are. Well, he sort of got that right. He is guilty of everything, and they are fools for being his friend. So he was close.

Excrement skinhead just told someone "don't be disrespectful", which means he is going to kill him. No, he only kicked him.

Selim is fired, which is good.

Moron's dad tells him he dishonored the family and he disowns him. He leaves him a bag of clothes and walks out.

Memduh meets with Bayzot.

Esra gets photos but we don't see what they are.

Memduh meets with Excrement to kill him. He falls for his trick like an idiot and gets killed. That was easy to see coming. Very stupid of Memduh. I bet he pins this on Bayzot.

Without explaining why, the head of the corrupt elite team has made peace with Excrement, this after swearing to have him killed. that whole scene and turn of events doesn't make much sense. Oh well.

Bayzot has decided to give the VW to Sule, it seems.

Excrement called Bayzot, I believe to set him up. The team is in action now to meet to get Excre. at the helicopter pad.

Someone raped Vulture's girlfriend. She holds some grudge against him now, for some reason, unexplained. I am assuming that girl is his old girlfriend Oh shit. I just saw the end of it. She was involved in it somehow. I am guessing Mine was his exwife, I missed that part. She called him daddy. Time to go read you post after this.

Da dada DA - imagine that as music for the shape of things to come - namely Moron's - he has lost a load of weight !! He looks a lot better for it too. Beserk is having a melt down in prison. There are guys that he put in there sharing a cell with him - never mind - he deals with it by playing a hand held computer game non-stop which doesn't endear him to his cellmates who attack him. He is in full hair and beard mode now - and silent to boot. In short extremely annoying. His hysterical brother is trying to get him released along with Esra and the rest of the team. There is a ludicrous series of events which I will not go into in case you have not watched this yet. I will say that the little girl who plays ghost Berna has a wonderfully expressive face - the look of contempt and cynicism on her face at the end event is superb for a little girl to get over. Bully for Berna !! The ghost of Berna has been saying some unexpected things of late - did you notice - originally it was "don't kill him daddy" and later it became much darker "put a bullet through his head daddy" - am I right in assuming that the Berna ghost represents Beserk's inner struggle with himself and his own dark side? The team have a mighty struggle even to get him to speak. There is one scene which made me laugh - the four of them are in the car - Beserk is silent in the passenger seat - Moron is driving and yapping at Beserk - "you gotta say something Captain - even if it is just something small - like a huh or a grunt or something - but you gotta say something" (words to that effect) Ghost - "Stop your babbling Hanrun" Vulture "Are we there yet?" I like Vulture. I am not sure what is wrong with this site - it used to have a red notifications alert when there is a new post for me to read - that seems to have stopped - I have to go into my profile and check for new discussions now - it's a bind.

update - hope you got my ep 39 post - the submit button didn't seem to be working it was ghosted out.

If the submit button is ghosted out it won't work. But you can get it to work by typing a few letters.

In other words, if you copy and paste your comment here, the button is ghosted out. It's like it doesn't know anything is there unless you type something after you paste your comment here. Did that make sense?

Also, that red notifications alert isn't always working for me either. I hit the refresh icon on my browser from time to time and then your comment will show up, or I go to the home page and see the alert.

I fell asleep and this morning about 3 or 4 episodes passed by. I have to go back and check on them. I saw some of Bayzot in prison trying to smash an imaginary cockroach. I opened my eyes another time and he was talking to his brother at a train station. I have to watch it over again

Having seen ep 39 now I think your post on it did get posted, but you didn't label it as about ep 39 so I didn't know for sure. Anyway I just watched it.

I've seen hallucination Berna telling him to blow the guy's brains out. To me that speaks to the dark place his mind is in now. Before she seemed to be a guiding light for good. Now he doesn't trust her. Is that because Sule did what she did? Not sure what to make of it.

The suspect said he would only speak in court. But that is not how it works. Lawyers don't put witnesses on the stand without knowing what their testimony is going to be. There is an old lawyers rule that they never ask a question they don't already know the answer to. I guess that scene was meant to emphasize that the witness feared Behzat, could tell he was willing to beat him badly, and was trying to prevent that. But they should have put him in a room with Esra and another calm cop and had them question the man. If he would not talk, they could look at each other and say, "well, he won't talk to us. Maybe Behzat will have better luck" and he would talk, if he were going to talk at all. ...OH, Now I see why they did this. They did it so he wouldn't give them the information they were after, promising to divulge it only in open court "where he would be safe". This was to set up the scene where the shooter kills him on his way up the courthouse steps, right beside Behzat. But, and you are already asking this, why, when they know they an important case like this involving powerful people committing murder of cops and so on, why don't they have secure transport and transfer procedures? Courthouses generally have secure entrances, often they have tunnels leading into them which most people are unaware of, they have back doors, side doors, etc. And they have procedures involving fake transfers so any shooter won't know who the real witness is. They could use some Philip Jennings wigs and toupees also, and totally confuse the hitmen.

Serket seems either completely unaware of how annoying he is, and how unappealing his suggestions are to others, or he knows this but feels he can impose his will by sheer force of wearing the other person down with his incessant prattling. Maybe it is a combination of those. I think it is a combination of them. If Behzat won't accept his suggestions when offered nicely, he often erupts into a display of acting offended that his suggestion wasn't accepted, that his actions in Behzat's best interests were ignored, and so on. He acts angry, but will switch back to selling mode in an instant if he thinks he sees an opening. Frankly, if I were Behzat I would not be nearly so nice toward Serket. I would bust him on his lying. Serket frequently begins saying this is an idea he just wants Behzat to consider, and if he doesn't like it fine, but just hear him out, and so on. That's how he gets his foot in the door, so to speak. When Behzat listens and then says no Serket explodes into his offended and angry display. That is when I would give him both barrels. Maybe it is the big brother thing in that culture, but Serket wants to run Behzat's life in personal matters, and I would tell him to take a flying leap.

I just saw another flashback of the evil daughter hallucinations. Do they ever offer any kind of explanation on this? I am guessing we are just to figure Behzat is still mentally unstable, and there is nothing more to be drawn from it.

Sule threatened suicide and Behzat stopped her. I am guessing he will develop a close relationship with her again, that the two of them together can help heal each other's broken minds. I wasn't entirely clear what role Sule played in Berna's murder, but she was a willing participant in it when she blamed Behzat for her 'terrible life' up to that point. Excrement was instrumental in helping plan it, set it up, and probably gave her the idea. Sule got close to Behzat afterward, apparently with the idea of being the "inside man" giving Excrement information on him. She participated in that fake kidnapping play to get Behzat to let Excrement go. I don't know whether that was totally voluntary or not, but I don't think so. I think she had already developed feelings for him by that point, but she was in too deep with Excrement and couldn't back out then. When his partners told her to do it, she felt she had no choice.

update. Did you notice that Selim is a CSI guy now? I saw him dusting for prints and delivering reports.

I am on Ep 43 now. This will contain minor spoilers.

Yes - Selim is in a different department now but when they run into each other Moron still tries to bully him. One of these days he is going to try those tactics on somebody who isn't afraid of him and he is going to get beaten to a pulp. Maybe Excrement will get a job in the police station cunningly disguised in a Jennings special and a pair of stylish shades - wearing the mandatory blue jeans and a leather jacket - and maybe Moron will disrespect him - oh - if only. To be honest I don't really pay much attention to the plots - their personal lives are more interesting. Have you come to the part yet where Moron is still living with Ghost and Vulture and wants them to buy a house. He says that in the winter it's bad enough with three men drinking belching and farting in one small room - but in the summer it will be unbearable (I may have got that the wrong way round) but oddly enough I was thinking exactly the same !!! Yes - Sevket is a pain in the posterior but he truly loves Beserk - Beserk knows this - that's why he hasn't killed him yet. Sevket and his horny son seem to have originated from the same seed - they are both sex mad - Sevkets divorce is back on again. I am still not clear on Sule - that footage definitely looked like a man. She is very conflicted I think because something starts out as hate and ends up as love it's hard for the mind to make sense of it - and she's crazy anyway. I think she did whatever she did willingly for revenge - I don't think Excrement intimidated her - he just stabbed her in the back figuratively speaking. I am still not clear on what Excrement's beef with Beserk is - he has shrugged off the past connection - so that was all a red herring it seems. I don't know - it could be that I am misreading the dialogue. There is the return of a former character which to me is bluddy boring - actually two of them . I am tired of the old device of characters not telling each other really important things - and then the one who doesn't know does stupid stuff because of their lack of knowledge. What episode are you on now - I don't want to reveal anything important. Had to include this - there is another new character - a retired police chief whose name is Aziz - I can't watch this guy - his eyes are like dirty saucers - I shall call him Azeyes !!

I'm just on 40 now, though at time I recognize bits of the story I saw when I was half awake last night. I remember that bit about all of them living together, and the summer and winter thing. But I was not really paying close attention.

I don't know what Sule's role in Berna's murder was. I know she played some role, and was hanging around afterward watching Behzat go crazy. I recall the video also and it looked like someone in male clothing and the figure looked bigger than Sule, I thought. And they showed her with Excrement and there was some bit of a conversation which sounded like it was them talking about things beforehand. So I don't know what role she played.

No the part I thought she may have been intimidated to play was much later, when she faked being kidnapped on the phone so Excrement could blackmail Behzat to let him escape. I figured Excrement had that play in the can, and he just had one of his guys grab Sule and force her to go along with it in order for him to get away. Because by that point she had grown attached to Behzat. I could be wrong on that. Maybe she was still playing him, and only felt sorry about it later on. After that fake kidnapping bit, she was super depressed and wouldn't get out of bed for a long time. I thought she was truly feeling bad about what she had done at that point, which was right after the kidnapping. So I am not sure if she was completely on board with the fake kidnapping or not. Obviously, at the end Excrement tied her up and left her there for Behzat, not to do him any favors, of course. And he screwed over Sule with that move also. His intention was to break Behzat's mind, I believe.

Also, regarding Serket.

I know Serket loves his brother and Behzat knows this and therefore puts up with a lot of his stuff. Also, often brothers are very tight and are there for each other, even if they are on the outs, they will run to each other's defense. But Serket doesn't seem to understand boundaries. Also, he has a sense that his ideas are so right that others should just agree with him. That would be a point I would have to discuss with him. Behzat tries to do this, but Serket is extremely hard headed, almost like Moron. I don't know if birth order plays heavily into the family honor, respect, thing in Muslim culture. I think it has some relevance, but nothing like gender does. So maybe Serket feels some right to push his ideas on Behzat because he is the older brother. But Behzat, well if I were him, I would tell him I'm an adult and quite able to direct my own affairs, and not to barge into my personal life, and to discard any expectations he has that I welcome his suggestions. And stop showing up with his wife at the hotel where Esra and I go to be alone. We go there to be alone. Look up that goddamned word if you don't know what it means. At the very least, you won't go to jail for shooting corpses so often if you stay out of my personal life.

Yes - shooting that corpse - she was dead and lying on the ground - so how come a random bullet hit her? He fired upward - the bullet would have had to be magic like the JFK one to have hit her. There is a lot of back flashes with Sule which prove some of her role in the Berna situation - but there is a lot left unsaid - and if we are supposed to rely on the footage for what happened it is still very enigmatic. The clothing of the killer for example and what Sule is shown wearing in the immediate aftermath. I continue to be unsure of the realities shown in this show - we have seen the Feride husband change heads and the nonsense of her carrying and burying a fairly large man - the twins episode - the same - this show has no respect for plausibility or continuity - it is very difficult to know whether they are just being sloppy or whether it means something. Even with the flashbacks it is not clear to me - but I am a very literal person - maybe I have missed some nuances that you will pick up on.

Moron is moving back home for his mother's sake. He is a hopeless case. Someone left a video of a murder in Cevdet's mailbox. Moron concluded that Cevdet was in big trouble now, as though Cevo was somehow implicated in the crime since it came to his mailbox. Cevdet is so submissive in nature, and so naive apparently, that he seems afraid Moron may be right. It's a wonder this group ever solves any crimes. Without Behzat they don't do too well. Cevo mentioned he is working on an unsolved case, a woman with a finger cut off, from when Behzat was in prison. Behzat said "whoa, you're used to having unsolved cases now?" And Moron answered "It's not unsolved. We're letting time handle it. I mean, it's not a closed case." (But it is unsolved.) Some parents have a swear jar and make kids put money in it whenever they swear. Behzat should have a jar for Moron for everytime he says something stupid. His whole paycheck would go in that jar, along with IOUs. He would have to quit working to keep from going deeper in debt.

Cevo and Moron entered a house to retain a murder suspect. They only brought one pair of handcuffs, and left it in the car. Good going, dumbasses.

I actually thought at one point that Cevo might study and work hard and turn out to be a good detective, but that hasn't happened. It's TV, so anything could happen, but at the rate it's going, he will remain a dumbass for a long time. I guess the writers want to keep things basically the way they are since this formula has been successful for them.

Sule was kidnapped by some psycho who 'just wants her to get to know him', nothing weird or anything. She needs to learn how to kill a man quickly. It would come in handy about now. Serket went to the psycho mental hospital employee's house, found Sule's wristband, saw the door open, got suspicious.....and failed to make a phone call before going in on his own! But that is par for the course for people in this show, and especially for Serket. "Oh, I didn't think it was necessary to use common sense in this instance, just like every other instance."

OK, I'm watching ep 41 and I think I just saw that guy Memduh who was supposedly killed by Excrement. I guess he wasn't killed after all. He is the one who was trying to contact Esra, and she and Behzat just met him in that van. They are taken to a farm equipment warehouse to talk. Things didn't go well and Memduh kicked them out and sent them on their way.

Just read your comment. Yes, I thought the same thing about the gunshot corpse. Serket was randomly shooting up into the trees. Perhaps there was a hill in some direction we were not shown. But the corpse wasn't lying on a hillside, it was on relatively flat ground. So, yes. He must have fired one of the magic FJK bullets. And you're right about the continuity issue. I think they don't pay close attention to it and figure the audience won't either. We are used to having to overlook a lot of things in television shows, but some of them in this show represent a bigger stretch that we should have to make.

Closing in on the end of ep 41 now.

extra comment:

OK, Serket is officially more stupid than Moron.

I'm watching the ending to episode 41, let me set the scene for you. Serket and Sule are being held at gunpoint by the psycho from the hospital, and Behzat looks inside the sliding glass door and sees them. At the same time Serket sees Behzat in his peripheral vision, looks over at him, and then says to the psycho with the gun: "Ah! What are you going to do now?" as he looks back and forth from the gunman to Behzat standing outside the door.

The kidnapper, who was previously unaware of Behzat's presence, looks toward the door and asks "Is that Behzat?"

Serket: "Yes, it is."

So the gunman motions for Sule to come to him, he puts her in an armhold around the neck from behind, and then places his pistol to the side of her head. Now Serket starts trying to talk him into giving up his gun again, since that worked so well before.

"Don't do anything stupid" he tells him. (Serket apparently wants to corner that market himself. ) "You're a smart guy." (Well, nice to know there is one smart guy in the room.) Behzat reads him well enough to see he can disarm him and takes the gun away from him. Serket is all over the place.

First he shouts at Behzat: "What are you doing? You almost got her shot." (No, dumbass. That was you.)

Then he says: "that's my brother. You knew he wouldn't do it. He works for the Homicide. He saved us. My brother."

I know this is television, and Serket is a make believe personality. But there are people who are impulsively stupid, like he is in this show. I wonder if there is anything which can be done for people like that. Serket seems to lack any filter. He also has an unshakable belief that he is right and is therefore resistant to being helped, I think. He doesn't think he needs help. So I doubt you could train him to stop his impulsiveness. He is as bad as Moron, even worse in some ways.

You notice that Behzat doesn't even try to tell him how stupid it was to alert the gunman to his presence, which allowed him to use Sule as a human shield. He knows there is no point trying to tell Serket anything.

Uh oh, I paused again cause I just had a thought about the killer, the one who chops off fingers. That retired detective who put away the wrong man. He is an odd man. He is putting on a glove now. I am betting they show him as the killer. Damn, he just cut off one of his own fingers. Well, he may or may not be the killer, but he is not in his right mind.

I am on ep 45 now - halfway through - I am tired so I will resume it tomorrow. Moron is about to show us that we need a new definition for somebody about 50 levels below cretinism. I will really have to stop watching for a while to enable you to catch up and discuss these really infuriating episodes!!. Ghost is having flashbacks now - which is linked with a case they are investigating - and yet another new character has turned up. Cevda (his real life wife) seems to be a permanent fixture now for absolutely no reason at all besides to tell him that she doesn't blame him any more for Berna's death - oh gee thanks Cevda - who needs your judgements. Is it only a coincidence that her second marriage has failed and she is back living with her father? I am wondering why it is that everybody is so concerned and so fond of Sule. Everybody babies her as if they had known her all their lives and she was a dear friend - she has only been there a year it seems and Cevda who doesn't even know her is treating her like a vulnerable and beloved child. I can't imagine how Beserk would continue to let her live there - I wouldn't give a damn for all her boo hoo stories - I would end her. There is a scene in their hangout café where they all want to say something to Beserk but nobody has the courage to and they all jerk and nod their heads and make eye movements at each other to encourage each other to make the first move - it's quite well done and gently amusing. Oh - watch out for the plastic arm and empty finger - that was quite amusing also !!! I don't know why Cevdet should be afraid of someone returning to his house because of the DvD that was in his letter box. He wasn't burgled or broken into so where is the logic of that? It's quite a cowardly attitude anyway. He is really too submissive - how can he gain respect as a teaboy? He should grow a spine and tell Moron in particular to get his own damn tea. I would also go above Moron's head and approach his father for permission to court Asli. He has the perfect ammunition to do that now - but I wont tel you what it is !!! You will find out very soon.
