( Kim ll Sung was a mass-murderer/North Korean communist leader who started the whole Korean War! Never mentioned at all in Mash!)

When Mash premiered in 1972 it was not a ratings hit immediately. It barely survived the first season. But by year two it was beginning to be a hit. The public was taking with this often bad pro-communist propaganda. By the end of season it was winning Emmys. Now in 1975 with this show a hit to millions Pres. Gerald Ford made the fatal and fatefully bad decision not to send South Vietnam any more US military aid. Did the millions of people making anti-US Mash a big show by then having anything at all to do with his decision?

PS Ho Chi Minh who headed North Vietnam until 1969 was a brutal mass-murderer ( see my postings). Alda won an Emmy in 1974 for Mash!

I stand by what I wrote!

I remember reading many years ago in a Funk 'N Wagnalls Year Book for 1975. Right after mass-murdering record North Vietnam forces took South Vietnam-- Kim II Sung ( still of North Korea at the time) got big, bad ideas to reinvade South Korea. Mao's communist China flatly turned him down. Look, Sung had at least a million of his own Army troops at that point. Good military equipment as well . He could have risked it, disregarded Mao and tried to smash his troops across the border line separating North Korea from South. Plus, flown tons of jets over Seoul, SK's capital, and bombed away. Did Gerry Ford secretly threaten Sung with the threat of, like, maybe getting North Korea nuked to the moon and beyond if the latter attacked. I will forever hold it against Jerry and Betty Ford for like letting South Vietnam politically crumble and causing world chaos! ( But did Ford save the freer Korea?)Hmm!?!

Anything military related can have some type of effect on the outcome of the show

I was asking if the show's popularity in some way and to some degree affected what Ford decided to do about saving South Vietnam or not!
