( Kim ll Sung was a brutal mass-murderer. He lead North Korea and started the whole Korean War. He was never mentioned on Mash!)
Gelbart won for Mash in 1974. The show got like 21 other Emmys. Plus, many Emmy nominations. There should be and always have been a rule by the Television Academy that said any show that is Anti-American or even Anti-Allied cannot win or even be nominated for an Emmy. In 1984 Gelbart was nominated for a director Emmy for After Mash. He lost! But the nomination alone was probably very terrifying to CBS that AM was soon going to become a great Emmy magnet like it's "mother program". Viewers of Mash had been very highly disillusioned that a show so nastily un-American could win such critical acclaim and worse-- Emmys. There was no justice in that. None! CBS quickly butchered AM to not to have to continue to go through the headache all over again and doing Americans a potentially giant favor! ( See my postings!)

The show seemed to be really falling apart in season 2 anyway. Unlike the original it had not found much of a solid direction by the beginning of the second year. Thus, the return of more old original series regulars which would have happened had it lasted any longer. Few used Gelbart's Emmy nomination to give this show any merit.
