Yes, that was at least their second appearance. Sometimes show clips like that get "disappeared" by YouTube for some reason (or no reason at all) for years. There are Monty Python clips from almost 20 years ago that didn't turn up in searches for a long time. Now they do again. I wonder if ANYONE even at YT could explain why?

Of course, it's the algorithm, but someone should be able to explain how it works, and why.
Since most - if not all - of the programming is done by AI now, there are no human programmers who can really explain exactly how it is done. Some variables used are known, e,g your profile, favourite channels (their pick-list), subscribers, views, likes, comments, trending, etc.. It's a business, so partners, monetized channels/content, get preference. Channels/content can also be banned/blocked/hidden/skipped. You will need the exact title, and even then it might sometimes not show up as the first choice, you might have to go through many pages or never find what you're searching for. Filters are useful, but limited and only help a litle. Many years ago, before this selective algorithm (AI) became dominant, I could search for anything and get uploads from people with 0 subscribers. Now, it is 'impossible'.
Something has obviously changed, since - for example - Monty Python clips that were first uploaded 16 or more years ago, and didn't show any comments newer than 8 years ago, are now showing up in searches again and getting fresh comments.

It's like the chicken and the egg. What came first: the comment or the videoclip?

Maybe the MP clips showing up again is because of this?

But it has to be "external trending" somehow, because those videos couldn't be "trending" while they were shadow-banned or whatever.
Where else might that information come from? Seems like someone has to be "plugging it in" manually, one way or another.
Or is YouTube somehow reading the Hollyweird tabloids?
I am not a computer expert but when a person searches (outside of YT) for MP videos & clicks on those YT links, doesn't that bring them out of 'mothballs'?

I had been looking for them using google too. They didn't show up.
And of course, they shouldn't have been "mothballed" to start with. People are always looking for those.
"Night Court is an American sitcom, a revival of the 1980s series that originally aired from 1984 to 1992. It premiered on NBC on January 17, 2023. It received generally positive reviews from critics, who praised Melissa Rauch's performance. In February 2023, the series was renewed for a second season."
They are going to have a PC version of "The Wheelers" on the new show?

Just because...
I saw this clip. I clicked on it. I laughed.
There seems to be many...I had never heard of them...I couldn't believe my eyes (almost).

Yes, one of the variables in the algorithm is 'trending'.

Excerpt from an article on "Wikipedia".

I don't think those critics ever saw the original, the "reboot" is pretty bad.
