Discuss Project Runway

Not a good start.

What I liked: The new workroom. The diversity of the contestants. The new female judge.

What is I didn't like:

Bland host. Bland mentor. The male judge, trying way too hard to be funny.

The fashion: A good, not great runway. I think I'd have gone with the other top look for the win.

Now to the worst of the worst: O M G they didn't send that blue bodysuit home. I get the feeling that it was because she is nice and nobody likes the WASP princess. Another decision like that and I may not continue.

😘😘😘 Dapper Dan. Please keep him around instead of Marne.

I agree. By the way, where was Marni?

Christian showed a little warmth this week, but again, too hands on with the designs. I think the bitching over eating break was there just to add drama.

I like Rakan's clapback when he told Christian it did look as if he didn't stop to eat.

I loved all the top looks as well as Hester's. Girl had me with Rococo Boxer.

Yep.

I think Sebastian should have been bottom 3 instead of Rakan. I didn't hate Rakan's. Sebastian's looked like a bad Arabian Nights costume.

It was bad, and I agree it did deserve a spot at the bottom.

Jamal got very lucky. His fabric screamed southern cotillion to me and his dress was a mess. Why did he practically strangle his model with that neckline? Same thing happened to her in the print challenge.

I'm glad Jamal was saved. He has some interesting designs that were often overlooked.

Sad to see Koveed go, but it was time. Some people just don't thrive in competitive, high stress environments. I think he's one of them.

That and he didn't seem to have any design talent. Thankfully, they dumped Kovid. I thought that they were going to torture us with his hideous designs and let him stay even longer past his expiration date.

Oh, I agree that Jamal should stay. I love Koveed's spirit but he is out of his depth here.

I have to add one more thing. Bishme made the most flattering look for a curvy model yet this season. That black dress was cut perfectly and fabric choice excellent.

Yes, he did.

Why does anyone who ends up with this one particular Plus-size model end up in the bottom? Of course, their designs are atrocious, but it's like, once they get her, they lose their talent.

Jamal in the bottom

Frankie in the bottom

Granted, Frankie was a weak designer, but Jamal is one of my favorite. Now, I know the model isn't the nail in the coffin when it comes to design, but it's important.

Hmmm, maybe Nadine was right after all.

LOL. joy You know the designers probably had this conversation. grin

Sorry to take so long to comment on last week's episode. Busy week.

We were pleased with the over-all look of all the designs. Bishme killed it. We thought that was, hand's down, the best look of the night. My wife, Sandy, actually went to look at the possibility of buying it, and it was actually available in her size. But we couldn't justify the cost. (which isn't a criticism of the price point.). The other two top designs were also nice.

AS for the bottom. We were sorry to see Kovid go. As we've said before, we like him. And we thought his intent was great. But we didn't really see anything black, hispanic or asian in that look and the pieces didn't go together.

Jamal's was a disaster too. While we liked the basic look itself, it was completely inappropriate for the challenge. It didn't say street at all. And the many unfinished parts of it showed a complete lack of time management, and perhaps an overly ambitious plan.

We didn't know anything about Dapper Dan other than his name. But he would make a far better mentor than Christian. The man seems far more warm and supporting.

So, Bishme's look was for sale. On what site?

I agree, and he's right there in NY.

shop.nineteenthamendment.com. I'm not sure how she found it. She had to click around for awhile. We only knew to look because they mentioned it would be for sale at the beginning of the episode.

Yes, he did.

I realized after watching the latest episode that I meant Venny. His black dress. I loved Bishme's too but I don't think he had one of the plus size models.

The curse struck again with this model and Jamal landing in the bottom. That suit had nothing to do with gaming.

A rather lackluster runway, imo. I didn't see a single look that I had loved.

The judges called out Garo's look as a cliche, which it totally is. It looked good though.

Tessa and Hester gave us video game looks that were not fashion, so missed part of the challenge.

I understand why they sent Rakan home, but really Venny had the worst look. There was nothing about it that met the challenge. It was boring and looked cheap and poorly made.

I've already forgotten the safe ones.

Oh, and Christian pet peeve of the episode, vetoing fabric choices at Mood. The Producers of this show are going to have to admit that hiring him in this role was a mistake.
