Except that this is not a TV special or a one-off event, it is a Web Special, which the rules clearly state can be included in the specials. For consistency with the 2005 series, it should be included here in the Specials.
This is a one-off TV special. It was broadcasted on TV on November 17.

Every other CiN special for Doctor Who is in the Specials section of 2005. This is not a movie. It's not even a short film, as it's only 5 minutes long. By your argument, not only should the CiN specials all be removed from the 2005 specials list, but so should The Infinite Quest, all the Doctor Who at the Proms episodes, and Dreamland, which all have their own pages on the BBC website. In fact, there's a better argument for both Infinite Quest and Dreamland, both of which are 45 minutes long, than there is for CiN.
Is there technically a rule that says you can keep it out? Yes. But our goal should be uniformity. So I hope you also plan to go in and remove all of the above from the 2005 series and create individual. Otherwise you are just being stubborn because you want to be right.

A big cleanup of the special of the 2005 series will happen. It will happen once the internal discussions to clarify the rule for DVD extras, which currently say "Some DVD bonus content is allowed.", have been finalized. I can't give a date now.

I'm sure all the plex/jellyfin/emby users will be very excited to have to go in and alter their entire Doctor Who setup.

Doctor Who Season 14 will eventually consist of 12 episodes - the three David Tennant Specials, the Ncuti Gatwa Christmas Special, and eight regular episodes. This is actually Season 1 of an entirely new show because Disney is paying for the international broadcast rights. The CiN special is not included because it was not made with any Disney money according to RTD and will not appear on Disney Plus. But it's also not part of the previous series (Doctor Who (2006-2022)) because production already wrapped on that. All this is why this year's CiN Special gets its own page at the BBC - it's a bit of a unicorn that should be entered as a separate, stand-alone entry.

Well, first of all, it's Season 1 of the 2023 series, not season 14. They have announced that this is essentially a soft reboot, and the BBC page already reflects this change. Also, the Disney money didn't come into play until the Christmas Special. That's why aside from putting the specials in the app, they have done almost no promotion of Doctor Who until now. So by that argument, the 60th anniversary specials don't belong in the specials section here either.
Edit: In fact, arguably, the 60th anniversary specials were more appropriately the end of the previous era of Who. However, the BBC has chosen to put them in with the new season. Regardless, CiN is not a film. It's essentially a charity advert encouraging people to give money. This is an outlier, and it should be treated as such and included in the specials. Just because BBC has decided to do something weird and give it it's own thumbnail doesn't make it a movie.
I explained that it's Season 1 of a new series. Disney money applies to anything that appears on Disney Plus. This includes the 60th Anniversary specials, which show the Disney logo in the end credits. That doesn't happen for free. None of this changes my point that the CiN Special should be filed separately.
You also called it season 14, so pick one and be consistent. It's on record in the November SFX magazine is that the Disney launch doesn't really start until 2024. They've specifically redacted the month, which actually suggests that Disney, while owning the distribution rights, isn't really involved until episode 1 of the new season, some time in 2024. RTD apparently told the SFX interviewers the month of release and it had to be redacted for the magazine, because it wasn't supposed to be released yet. But he states outright that, "That's where the Disney launch will really be starting. Disney love these specials, are dropping them, and going to support them, but the massive Disney Launch starts in (REDACTED) with season 1." Disney gets their logo in them because they own the distribution rights. This is common practice, for distributor logos to be added to the credits of shows and movies. So by that argument, all of the 2023 specials are kind of their own thing, much like the David Tennant Specials back in the day. It will be interesting to see if they are included in Season 1 of the 2024 season or not. It may be that they aren't included that way at all. Which would only strengthen the argument that the CiN special should be included with them.
Can't you just make an Episode Group and be done with it? All this fuss over an inconsequential, five minute joke is just ridiculous.
Since they want to put it under movies, no you can't. In plex movie and TV libraries are separate. What I will probably end up doing is just putting it in as an extra. But there should be consistency. All the other CiNs are under specials. This one is an aberration. So an exception should be made. It's all well and good to have rules, but there are times when it just makes sense to make exceptions. And if they were going to be this pedantic about it, it should have happened a long time ago. The list of specials under the 2005 version is ridiculous, and there's no good reason for it. Tardisodes, Behind the scenes stuff, An Adventure in Space and Time (which is a movie and shouldn't be allowed in there) and just a ton of DVD extras. The Children in Needs make a kind of sense, they are one offs, they aren't DVD extras, they are usually not associated with a specific episode. DVD extras generally shouldn't be allowed though. It's a judgement call I guess, but it makes things kind of a pita for people running servers, especially when they aren't consistent with their own rules and exceptions. I mean, DVD extras are allowed right. So I full expect the list below to all show up in the specials in just a few days. But the CiN thing. NOOOOOO, that's going too far.

Edited to add: It's all well and good that a previous comment indicates that they are going to cull stuff from the 2005 section, but it's too late for that really. It messes with people's servers when you make those changes. Plex and other server systems pull metadata from this site, so when a massive change happens then it messes with all the work they've put in to make sure their server is organized correctly (something we already had to deal with when plex moved from the tv db to here as their main source of metadata). As annoying as I find that section, they need to leave it alone. Lock it, since that series is over, so that no more can be added to it or changed, but otherwise don't delete what's there. Maintaining a server is already a fair amount of work, don't make life harder for the people who have already done it.
