A lot of these men are socially awkward. That seems to be a common theme. Maybe being with someone who didn't speak English well covers that up somewhat.

True but it's not only that. These guys always want to date out of their league. Perhaps, if they found someone in their league, they may find better success.

Did you check out when Kentucky's mother said Brazil looks young, like really young, like 14?

I've seen other comments questioning her age. Also that he gives off a pedo vibe. Also something about him being a convicted arsonist.

I really hope that TIC has done their homework and are not showing an underage girl being pursued by a 30 something guy.

Say what?!

Update: I looked it up and the arson seems to be when he burned his own property in order to scam his insurance company or something. Then, there was a protection order against him. I guess that's what he meant when he said he had something to tell Karine.

rofl grinning laughing

I don't think she looks 14 as the mother said. She appears to be within 18 to 20.

Thanks for the research. Always great talking with you.

Oops, I forgot to link it.

I saw online that they are engaged. I'm guessing the restraining order came because this socially awkward man was like a lost puppy, who wouldn't stop coming around some woman.

Of course, that's a guess.

It sadly seems to be normal in the Latino/Mexican/Spanish culture. The son works to support the rest of the family while the daughters are treated like spoiled princesses.

In Mexican culture, the male, especially if he's the only male or the youngest one, gets treated like a prince.

I can't say anything on that. I just know what I'm seeing in my friend's daughter's case. He and his family are Mexican, he's the only boy, and he's treated like shit and expected to take care of his sisters while he gets nothing. They get money, new clothes, new cars, etc., AND if he buys something for his girlfriend, his sisters (in their twenties and thirties) throw temper tantrums like three year olds and demand that he buy them whatever he bought his girlfriend! It's disgusting.

Thing is, he probably can't find love in this country because women probably get vibes off him and know something's up. This is often why men go outside the country for relationships. They want women they can control (and often think that getting a Russian or Asian woman [especially an Asian woman] is the way to go because sometimes in other countries it's believed that woman are raised to obey their husbands). I think maybe this is what took Jorge by surprise. I don't think he was expecting Anfisa to be as feisty as she is. I think he expected her to be grateful for bringing her to America and thought he could buy her a few things now and then and have her gratitude and would be obedient. But clearly that's not how she is. And when he asked her straight up if she'd still "love" him if he was poor and she said no without missing a beat, should have been a red flag to him. But he's not a very bright person.

I should have put air quotes around the reference to him not finding someone in the US. Because a socially awkward convicted criminal is such a great catch. Just ask Mohammed how that worked out grin

And you are right about American men who go to these foreign dating sites thinking a Russian or Asian woman will be more submissive or less independent than an American woman.

I don't think Jorge ever wanted to control Anfisa. He stressed he wanted a hot chick, and that he loved Anfisa. He spotted Anfisa on IG and struck up a conversation with her. Moreover, Anfisa's pics on IG are far from the submissive wife type and more like the hot chick variety.

We don't have it over here yet but this show seems made for post-Brexit Britain. First time on here - am I allowed to mention something that looks quite fun and relevant, a blog trying to find the world's favourite TV show, movie, book etc? Called ifonlyone.com. Apologies if I'm breaking every damn rule in the book...

Welcome. I don't think you're breaking any rules by posting your blog.

Many thanks, that's reassuring to know. Not sure 90DF would appear on anyone's top list - but it certainly seems to have made an impression!

It's good reality, and there's never a boring episode. You can watch many clips of it on youtube.
