I don't know what was funnier. That or the gf not wondering what was up with that. I would have assumed he was into porn, as her friends did, but no. . . that doesn't pop in her head at all.
So often people refer to themselves or someone they know as "too trusting or naive, or would give the shirt off their back, etc, etc. What they really mean is this person lacks good judgement and makes bad decisions. I'd say that applies to Cortney (and Danielle).
I didn't mean you specifically, blackandyellow, I meant people in general. Cortney's friends said that about her, and so did Danielle's family on her first season.
okay, yes, lol, she very oddly seems to lack a lot of good judgement
Whatever happened to plain ol' stupid?
Seriously, I doubt there is a thought that inhabits her brain. All of her thinking is about the fantasy. For example, he looks good. He says sweet things. I'm in love.
Never in her wildest imagination, does she think there is something off about him? Why doesn't he want to talk to her on the phone? Most catfish speak on the phone. Yet, this guy sends porn pics of himself, and then this chick gets dumber.
jonnieblack, thanks. Maybe people use that word as a euphemism or nice way to say "stupid" as Poetist pointed out. I was really agog at how....not the sharpest crayon in the crayon box...she was. (See? I can't do it. I don't like being mean!) It was just weird, again, because the parents seemed smart enough. How does that happen? Did they shelter her or raise her in a tiny bubble?
(As far as Danielle...I don't know WHAT category she is in. I can't tell for sure, but I have to wonder if somewhere deep down she knew it was a sham and is just trying to force/make him care because she wants him to. Not that she ever truly believed he was in love with her.... Maybe Mohamed was convincing at first. But I just feel like she's not as "innocent" as she tries to come across either. I think she thought she could force him to love her/be with her/etc because she had the visa thing hanging over his head.)

Sometimes, you have to call a spade a spade. Either, this chick was dropped on her head as a child, or she is just a very slow, slow learner.

I don't know about forcing him to love her. I believe in her head she thought Mo was her knight in shining armor. The camera and lights all focusing on her relationship w/Mo added up in her mind that she found a prince.
Think of it.
I doubt someone like Danielle ever thought she would be on TV and then to have all of that attention on her -- and POSSIBLE ROMANCE.
The tempting apple was too much, and she bit it. Despite Danielle's dire household finances, she took all of her money and mail ordered her man, Mo.
Once Mo was her man, life would be rosier and she would be happier.
The arrival of Mo was great in Danielle's mind, even though he did nothing to add to her life, but he, being a new edition was enough for the moment.
Unfortunately for Danielle, this new found man was a poisonous apple, but she wanted to consume more of it to give her that initial high and present the dream in her head. However, it was all a delusion. Mo didn't come for romance. He came for the green card.
