Discuss Marvel's Iron Fist

4 episodes in, and it's the first Marvel Netflix that doesn't have the pacing issues of all of the other series. The cast is also the strongest. There are no annoying characters like Malcolm or Foggy. Finn Jones actually has charisma unlike Charlie Cox or Mike Colter. All of the characters are engaging and there are no meandering side plots with boring characters that feel like they are just there to pad out the episodes.

Yes Tom Pelphrey would've been perfect as Danny Rand -- he looks more like a warrior monk and he's a terrific actor. I actually felt bad for Ward as he was a victim as well as a bad person.

Look at him here:

Palphrey in BANSHEE

Finn said he didn't want to be big and muscular, well, that's how you can look petite but still have a somewhat muscular build. Plus he looks BADASS no? LOL! A believable gritty warrior who isn't too big.

I think Palphrey lost a lot of weight for his role in Ironman. I also agree with your sympathies towards Ward, I feel for that character too. He looks doomed to be a tragic figure in this show you root for and feel for.

Finn didn't want to be big and muscular? He should rethink that. His physique wasn't very convincing to me. He should have that Bruce Lee build, slim but ripped. I like Finn Jones, I have nothing against him. Loras forver. But his acting was a bit of a miss in some parts. I have to be honest even if I am a fan of him.

Yes, I read it on the trivia section of this film in IMDB.

I agree that he should have put more effort into his physique. But It's not really that important. Colleen's ass definitely made up for it.

Sorry but no, he has too much of a wimpy face. Finn Jones was a pretty good casting choice imo and if you can only see Loras in him that's your problem.

Wimpy face !? Wow. Have you seen him in Banshee? Look at him as Kurt Bunker and tell me again he looks wimpy! Look at his physique -- that's how a warrior monk should look like, not too much or too bulky, just enough to make it look convincing. I wouldn't like to meet him at night alone! sunglasses

-- Finn Jones shouldn't had been so lazy but should've spend a lot more time in the gym.

And by the way? I'm not the one that see this Loras character in him - I haven't even seen G.O.T! slight_smile

Yes I did in fact and no matter how much bulky he gets, that won't change his facial bone structure without plastic surgery. Don't get me wrong, he's a decent actor but he's simply not cut out for tough guy roles because of his face that makes him appear like he's about to cry every minute.

And by the way? I'm not the one that see this Loras character in him - I haven't even seen G.O.T! ;-)

That wasn't intended to you specifically, but to anyone who thinks like that.

This quote from Cinelinx's review sums up my beef with this show perfectly:

"Speaking of not-compelling, that leads us to Finn Jones. Jones was sufficient as Sir Loras Tyrell on Game of Thrones, but as the leading man, he falls short in the charisma department. Playing the angst-ridden Danny Rand, who returns from the realm of Kun Lun to fight the Hand, Jones spends most of the series suffering an identity crisis about who he is, who he can trust and what his purpose is. This would all be fine if his internal conflict was done in a more interesting way, but it isn’t. His scenes mostly consist of him looking teary-eyed and miserable. It’s super hero soap opera."

Ok your opinion is noted, but what does that have to do with Tom Pelphrey and his wimpy face?

I've watched it all. And I loved it. I felt the story was engaging and it kept twisting and turning and I had no idea how it was gonna turn out. It's definitely my favorite of the Netflix Marvel show. And before I get attack for saying that remember it's a matter of personal opinion. I'm not hating on the other shows and saying they are inferior, I'm saying personally I enjoyed this show more than the others. If you loved Daredevil more than this, great for you! No judging :)

The last three episodes including the ending were outstanding!
