Season 2 ended with Phil shot and on his way to Noregard, Sarah shot dead, and a science experiment in the cemetery, which failed to resurrect Elishia, but which did apparently push the boundary line back out. And there were some interesting minor cliffhangers as well.

Kate finally told Owen everything (after the cemetery science and death scene). He said he had to go get some air, stepped outside and we see him on the phone saying "hey mate it's Owen. Yeah yeah, I gotta talk to you". So who did he call? What was he going to tell him? Owen seems to be secretly spilling the beans on Kate, which cannot be good for her. Will this ruin their relationship? If so, will she hook up with her husband James again and take care of Sarah's baby?

Kirstie has a secret. Kirstie and Charlie went to the Royal. Kirstie got sick and vomited in the toilet, then put her hand to her tummy and said "oh fuck". So she is pregnant. But who is the father? Is it her boyfriend Kevin Brunner? Or is it the rapist Pete Rennix? As far as we know, she has not hooked up with anyone since she came back, so it would have to be one of those two guys.

The last scene shows William back at the cemetery blowing on that resurrection whistle thing, and the ground then showed that same pattern which was produced by the sound part of the experiment. Does that mean more people are going to arise in season 3?

Glitch has already checked the gay guy box with Charlie remembering his secret boyfriend from the war, and getting hit on by the aging gay bartender at the Royal. So we should expect season 3 will show Charlie with a love interest at some point.

Also, Phil is not dead, as everyone thought when Sarah shot him at the cemetery. Dr. Heysen took his body "for study", and James allowed it since reporting the death of Phil 2.0 and Sarah 2.0 might have led to interesing autopsy findings and questions nobody wanted to answer. Will Phil submit to testing at Norgard? Or will he escape and continue his campaign of killing the resurrected?

Also, why exactly did Phil, Vic, and Sarah immediately return to life, with memories intact, and a mission to kill all those who came back to life? They mentioned that there are rules, you're born, you live, and you die, in that order, and that breaking those rules upsets the natural order in some way. Will the writers elaborate on these issues or will they leave them shrouded in mystery?

I see there are only 6 episodes, so whatever they intend to show us, it won't take them long to do it.

2- Whoops! I didn't see your comment before I posted mine. OK, we can find something else. The backward scene "36 hours ago" at the beginning was weird, animals walking backward to indicate they were rewinding to 36 hours ago. But that was the only time I saw that.

Sample some things and tell me what you want to watch.

This site gets on my nerves - I just lost a reply I was typing because it just flipped off. No - you aren't rambling - you are making very valid points. I have just read this -"America's dying whites: Caucasian death rate now outstrips the birth rate in a third of states New research shows more whites died in a third of states than were born University of New Hampshire found Latino, black and Asian populations continue to grow, but white families are having less children Meanwhile, soaring death rates among white middle-aged Americans mean that certain states are seeing falling Caucasian populations White Americans are reportedly dying faster thanks to a silent 'epidemic' of deaths from suicides, drug and alcohol poisoning
New research blamed increased competition with China for soaring death rates among white, middle aged Americans " Whites are a dying breed - all over the world - I believe that governments know this and are encouraging interracial marriages to avoid civil wars when the white populations finally realise this. There are whole towns in Northern England that are black and I think it is the same in America - I think Detroit is almost all black - but I may be mistaken. At the rate immigration is progressing Europe will be black in the foreseeable future. I hope white people wake up before that happens. I'll give Kacak another go.

Once in a while I pull up Wordpad and type my message there, then copy and paste it here. But when you do that, you have to type something extra into the box or the Submit button isn't active. It doesn't recognize anything being here unless you type something in the box.

There are many factors for the white population decline, I am sure. I don't think any other culture really took to heart the idea which was popularly floated around when I was young that American couples should only have two children. Overpopulation was becoming a concern at that time. Then along with abortion came the feminist movement with the idea that women should decline having children and join the workforce. Hey, they were already in the workforce, but Gloria Steinem and others told women they were being abused, used as baby machines and kept in their houses. To this day some feminists speak derisively of women who choose to be stay at home mothers. How terrible! They choose to care for and love their children instead of serving the feminist cause.

Detroit is about 80% black, 14% white, and a mix of others. Since the 1960s or before it has always elected Democrats, and since then the city has deteriorated into something like a third world poverty stricken hell hole. Whole sections of neighborhoods are dilapidated, unoccupied, homes with broken windows. All the social programs, welfare, government "investment in jobs" (whatever the hell they mean by that, usually it is money diverted to cronies) etc. have only put the city deeper into debt. Working people have fled the city. It is a disaster.

Yes, give Kacak another try. He is a former undercover cop who worked for a crime family until they determined that he was not loyal to him. How that happened has not been revealed yet. But they were planning to kill him. Instead he slipped his bonds and killed one of the sons during his escape. He then went to a distant small town, got married and had a son, and worked a small business, a tea and coffee shop. He was delivering a order to a jewelry store and walked in on an armed robbery in progress. He fought them, both crooks were shot and died, and he became a local hero. His picture made the news and the crime family found out where he was. A team of men led by a son-in-law kidnapped his son as leverage to get him to surrender and they killed him by accident as they tried to capture him. That is the beginning plot. Of course, you can bet his wife is upset with him, to say the least. He never told her about his past work.

2- I just found out there is an American version of Broadchurch called Gracepoint, and it also stars David Tennant. We will have to look around for that one so we can compare the two. Netflix doesn't have it here but Prime Video does, so I can get it here. See if you can get it and if you want to watch it.

I have just watched ep 1 of Kacak - it seems reasonable enough. There are 50 episodes. I notice the end credits are the same style as those in Ezel - so maybe it is the same company producing it. I will have a look on Amazon to see if I can get Gracepoint - it's not usual to get American versions of the same show with the same actor in it - especially as he is a Brit - or more accurately a Scot. It will be interesting to compare the two - especially as I have not seen Broadchurch for a long time so it wont be over familiar to me.

I have just started to watch the first episode of Gracepoint to get a feel for it. So far it is almost exactly like Broadchurch, with some minor changes. Tennant doesn't have his Scottish accent in this one. He is speaking fairly plainly (from my perspective) with a pretty American sounding accent. That really caught my ear. The kid's name in this one is still Danny, but the last name is Solano. And he is found beneath a cliff on the beach, as before. I still want to give Kacak a go, but we can do Gracepoint first if you would rather.

update. Another possible one for the list. Boardwalk Empire. It's about the rise of organized crime in Prohibition era Atlantic City. Steve Buscemi stars. See if you can get that one. It is on Prime video.

I have seen Boardwalk Empire - it is an excellent series - I can't find one with subtitles though. I wont spoil it except to say there is one woman in it you will probably want to shoot !! I will look on Amazon in a minute and see if Gracepoint is on it with subtitles. Update soon.

Update - annoying news - Gracepoint is available but has no subtitles. Boardwalk Empire is available with subtitles - but you have to buy it at £2.49 per episode. I would struggle with Gracepoint - I would probably miss a lot of vital information. I thoroughly recommend Boardwalk Empire though.

Update 2 So I just watched Ep 2 of Kacak - and I am already annoyed !! This guy is an ex cop - he knows the extent of the ruthlessness of the crime family he worked for - so after being tied to a chair he "somehow untied himself" stole a gun and scarpered. They obviously don't use cable ties in Turkey then. So off he goes and makes a new life for himself. Now after being a hero in the jewellers he sees his face splattered all over the television and the newspapers and - goes to work. He leaves his wife and child completely unprotected behind a door that wouldn't survive a gust of wind. He has to meet the son of the crime lord before it dawns on him - gee - these people might watch the telly or read a newspaper - and even then it doesn't occur to him to phone his wife and tell her to get out of the house. So they kidnap the kid - and after a scuffle the kid runs off and hides behind a tree with his hands over his ears - this is so effective that he doesn't hear his father calling him - however when he does he says I'm frightened over here - I want to come over there (yeah - it's completely different over there) he makes a run for it and is shot. Quite honestly I don't like the killing of children portrayed for entertainment. This is enough to make the crime boss demand the return of his son and his gang - yeah right - "how often have I told you not to involve women and children" he's a good crime lord then? However off Serhat goes to the hospital - isn't it wonderful how small hill townships have state of the art hospitals nestling somewhere in the hills. It's no good - the boy dies. His wife of course blames him (well - he should have built a stronger door) and after a rather unconvincing suicide attempt she runs away. I am guessing that this is not your usual Turkish soap offering - more like a revenge thriller - but I am guessing there will be soapy elements in it - the crime lords daughter is far too pretty not to have a major impact somewhere - maybe she and Serhat had a relationship in the past and when they meet again it will rekindle old feelings. I shall continue to watch with my sceptical face on!

I wasn't skeptical about the prohibition on women and children. The Mafia in America is like that, or at least they used to be. The younger guys are not quite as true to the old traditions as they all were in the past. A friend of mine used to have dealings with the syndicate in Chicago and he told me there were strict rules about women and children back in the 60s. He was friendly with one of the families there as part of his undercover work. Someone made a pass at his wife once and he beat the crap out of him, and nothing was done about that because the guy had broken that rule so my friend was entitled. But I also thought it was stupid of him to not tell his wife about his former life as an undercover police officer, and once he saw he was in the news, not to take precautions of some sort or warn his wife that they were now potentially in danger. He was obviously worried that something might happen, and lied to his wife about that. Also, as a former cop he should have notified the police that trouble was on the way. He should have called his former superiors to alert them. There were steps he should have taken. So why not? Is he on the outs with the police also? If so, they have not told us about that yet. I could sort of understand why he didn't want those small town regular uniformed police getting involved as they could have blundered and given themselves away too easily if they came charging to the scene. The biggest problem I had with that part was that he took not precautions and didn't warn his wife once he realized they were in danger. The danger to his family, despite the rule, was real and he should have sent them away for a while.

How are you doing with Kacak? Can you get Gracepoint? It's slated to rain here the next week straight so I will have more TV time. Yesterday I worked on projects and ran some errands. I'm used to reading your comments everyday so I missed seeing your post today. I know you have other things to do of course. I hope everything is alright.

Everything is fine - thanks for asking. I can get Gracepoint - but it doesn't have subtitles - and I would have real difficulty following the dialogue which is essential in shows like these. I am still watching Kacak - I am on episode 10 at the moment. I don't know where you are at so I can only make general comments in order not to spoil anything for you. The son-in-law, Erhat - what a cowardly snake in the grass villain he is! What he does to Kacak is really horrible. I have to laugh at some of the dialogue sometimes - when his son asks him to help with his car he tells him to go away in really cold terms - when his wife Muerve? reproves him he says something like " don't keep on at me with the pedagogy"! What is it with Turkish men and moustaches - it seems the bigger and thicker it is the more handsome and powerful I am - I beg to differ! Kacak has now got two buddies - one that seems like an old army pal and his pal who is a fourth year medical student who dropped out but can nevertheless remove bullets from people. He is also a skilled hacker which comes in handy. They hang out in a weird house which seems to have an attic which they live in and cook in and every time the hacker pays a visit it looks like he is emerging from a coffin!! They have some running gag about eating eggs. I think in the old days of the Mafia - when the emphasis was on families both criminal and personal - then yes - I think women and children were no-go areas - but today - I think honour is a thing of the past - and expedience and cash rules the roost. They call gangs the Mafia - The Russian Mafia - The Turkish Mafia etc - but it's a catch all term these days for ruthless thugs. The three stooges (Kacak et al) have now decided to wage a sort of guerrilla war against the Don and are busy disrupting his business. It can get confusing because there are so many long flashbacks to when he first got involved with the family undercover and then it bobs back to the present and it takes a few seconds for your mind to reset. Tell me how far in you are and I can comment in more detail. I am not in the best of health - but I want you to know that I will not ignore your posts and simply stop responding - that is not in my nature - if I do stop responding it will be because I have no other options.

I am a little behind you but will catch up today. It is odd that they named the series after a guy who was a minor character and was killed so early in the show. I am starting episode 9 now. Serhat and the Doc just told Dadayli they are eating scrambled eggs. The crazy Dadayli has that chicken coop and loves his eggs. I saw what they did to Kacak. When I used to go to the gym and struggled to make that last lift it occurred to me that becoming exhausted and catching that bar on the neck would be a bad way to go, but apparently Kacak had a heart attack instead of a broken neck. Kacak's bodyguard heard the first man coming down the stairs and told him the gym was closed but when three more men came down the stairs he heard nothing. Anyway, the plan is underway to destroy the criminal network piece by piece. Serhat's wife is working for Erhat, and I wonder if he is going to make a move on her. He and Merve are apparently not close anymore. Yes, I just saw that he is stepping out on her with his mistress. And he threatened to cut her tongue out if she makes trouble. I imagine Ismet Ali would not react well if he learned Erhat was cheating on his daughter. I still don't understand why Serhat doesn't want the police to help him. I guess he is doing things they could not approve of or allow. Yeah, kidnapping that accountant and killing some of the guards during the heist is against the law, for sure. But he still meets his old police boss to get information. I guess the old boss is aware but just doesn't want to know any of the illegal details. I'll write a bit more later after I catch up. I'm watching episode 9 now.

I am on Ep 15 - sorry I got the name wrong - you see his photo on the credits and see Kacak as the name of the show and it's in my head now!! I didn't realise who Nasmi was - he seems to have been the Don's accountant - but that was revealed in a flashback after he appears as the third gang member of Serhat ie "The Doc". Maybe I am wrong about this - There are too many flashbacks - you find yourself looking at Erhart's hair style to figure out where you are in the story. Have you come to the Burak (the Don's other son) and his girlfriend in the hotel situation yet? I can't quite see the guy who plays Serhat as right for the part - he is kind of like Liam Neeson - you like him well enough but he is a trifle too old for action movies. Serhart seems years older than Nurghul. Nasmi is on the run from the Don for reasons you will discover and is hiding out with Serhat and Dadayli as you know - but the situation that follows is beyond farce. The Turks seem to have a very strange sense of humour - or maybe it's me!! We learn why Erhart is so cold with his son Umur - and this seems like an attempt to humanise him a bit - it didn't work for me. One thing I find puzzling is Merve - she doesn't seem to be madly in love with Erhart - she is obviously aware of his ambition to take over her father's position when he dies - and yet she doesn't say anything to her father - to warn him that just maybe Erhart - psychopath that he is - just may do something to accelerate the process - and isn't it more traditional for Mafia families to elect the son of the house to continue in his father's footsteps than the son-in-law? Erhart has just sacked his chef and appointed Nurghul to his position - as you do - a village cook who has never heard of any cuisine other than eggs and soup compared to a chef with 8 awards. Can't say any more until you catch up !! This may interest you - "Kacak" - eventually the meaning of the word drifted, from deserter, fugitive to free man. Thus, both the Turkic Kazakh, and the Slavic Cossacks who adopted nomadic way of life started using that name.
