Discuss Star Trek: The Next Generation

Yes I'm back from hibernation living without the IMDB Trek boards for several months now .But it's hard to forget a thing you spend several years on and started looking for a substitute and I saw some familiar names on this site and was hoping to hear from my former fellow posters on the IMDB TNG- board (and other Trek boards), to find out how they are doing and if this is the site to go to for former IMDB Trek boards posters? Hope to be hearing from you ...Nexus71 beers

I haven't seen too many IMDBers here, but this site is the closest to the message boards of IMDB so I've been using it now and again.

@Moonglum9 : Hi Moonglum good to see you again here ,and I agree this site seems to closely resemble the old IMDB boards. I tried IMDB 2.0 for a month and a half but it was very confusing and they didn't have separate boards for the various Trek shows so I gave up out of frustration plus not many of the "old batch" were on that site.Great to see I am not the only one here.What does kind of puzzles me that since this year is the the 30th anniversary of TNG I would have expected more activity here on this board.

@Nexus71 grin I'm happy that you're back on all of the different threads where you and I talk!

BTW, One of the main reasons I prefer this message board than IMDb is because while IMDb was cool, I was disgusted with all of the petty fights, insults, and cursing that went on. TMDb is a lot better. It attracts a much higher class of poster.

---------Fasten your seatbelts, it's going to be a bumpy night-------

@Maria kelly : Well thank you Maria the thing I won't miss was.these so called posters who claimed CJH had said certain things and he should be banned just because CJH wrote something they didn't like .And in all fairness I have had a lot of interactions with CJH and never has he displayed the behaviour he was accused of ,and sure we have had our differences of opinion but it never resulted in him being rude or insulting towards me.On the other hand when I pointed these things out to these so called grieved posters I suddenly received vile messages from "other CJH 's "who they claim CJH had created. But great to see some of the "old crew" back( Jetfire in particular) .The only thing that saddens me is that the most popular Trek board (TNG) on IMDB is so quiet and certainly because it's an anniversary year.

@Nexus71 : Who exactly is CJH?

He was the guy on the IMDb boards who was always persecuted by someone making a bunch of accounts with very similar names and saying things to try to get people mad at the real CJH8509 (or some number like that, I forget exactly). He was a big fan of Trek, Cheers and Halloween (the movie).

@Maria Kelly: What Moonglum wrote is a fairly accurate account of what happened on IMDB with CJH8509(or something like it).And he loved TNG was a great fan of Worf indeed loved Cheers and Halloween(II in particular)and was a fan of the A-team as well.It surprises me that he only left one message here. Because whatever you say about CJH he was a very prolific poster on the old TNG IMDB board and I was hoping that he would have done the same here.

@Nexus71 : Okay. Thanks to you and Moon glum for clearing that up.

@ Nexus. I think that post was from the CJ doppelganger who planned on moving here if the real CJ did. I think I remember that avatar picture was one that the doppelganger had used on the IMDB boards before.

@ Nexus. In fact, I just now saw that he made a post in another thread here saying "Blow it out your ass" which I remember was the doppelgangers favorite saying. Def not the real CJ.

Yeah it looks that way Moon so sad that the real CJH probably has given up altogether .I got the "blow it out your ass" reply.Well it was worth the try.

@Nexus71 sunglasses Well, I'm glad that you're back, even though I was unaware that you had left. :-)

So am I ,I was missing the interesting discussions and funny threads about anything related to Star Trek so glad to meet all the old posters from IMDB and some new ones. Happy 30th anniversary TNG!!! fireworks

@Nexus71 : And a Happy TNG 30th Anniversary to you too!

@Maria Kelly: beers
