I remember when members of this board were claiming that this show would never even be filmed, as various angry young men on YouTube had "proof" that it was cancelled...

The whole point was not about Morley wanting to use the N word on the show it was about Mosley being CENSORED BY SOME OVERSENSITIVE SNOWFLAKE IN THE WRITERSROOM OF STD TO TALK ABOUT HIS OWN EXPERIENCE WITH RACISM AS A BLACK PERSON AND HOW UNCOMFORTABLE IT FEELS BEING CONFRONTED BY IT.

Money doesn't exist in the 24th century at least not in the Federation why should he chase a mortgage the Chateau has been in the possession of the Picard family for centuries. And the house we saw in the TNG episode Family is hardly a castle and if we are really going to start nitpicking the house and estate in STP doesn't look like it is in France but rather somewhere in Spain or California.

Wow, you really don't understand things, do you?
It was the same actor, but he was NOT the SON OF SISKO in THAT SCENE.
Do you also get confused when the "Prophets" appear to Sisko in the form of other characters? Do you insist that's still Kira or whatever, even though it's really the Prophets appearing to Sisko in her form?
Amazing. But, it explains a lot.

Another example.
You never heard "A man's HOME is his CASTLE?
And that it happens to rhyme with HASSLE?
Geeze.
No wonder your "calculus" doesn't make sense, you don't even know basic math.

Chateau is the French word for castle Picard's home in TNG's "Family" is not a chateau it is a maison. You don't understand French that's the problem.

I know the expression but it wasn't about that instead of speaking of Chateau Picard they should have used Maison Picard.
And that Philippe likes Picard is understandable he is after all a Hellraiser fan since his name is the name of the main character in Hellraiser IV Bloodline Philippe is the toymaker who made the boxes(of pleasure).Still have Hellraiser III & IV on VHS.Fun fact ;The woman who became the first victim of the box and one of it's early cenobites is the same actress who mounted a young Christian Slater( Who was in Star Trek VI TUC)in The Name Of The Rose. Also Star Trek alumni Ron Perlman and F.Murray Abrahams feature in that movie

That only started after they realised that the previous attacks could easily be disproven so there was a switch to subjective appraisals.

Actually, slavery seems to be abolished everywhere (in law, at least) though there are still slaves. Most of whom are in India(over 18 MILLION!): https://www.oxygen.com/very-real/6-countries-where-slavery-still-exists
My point is that you stated that murder is the unlawful taking of life so capital punishment isn't murder, but abortion is.
I offered proof that abortion is legal in most of the world, and so by your own definition is not considered murder apart from in a very few countries.

I think the shock @Invidia got from hearing that word being used is relevant to the Mosely story in that most people aren't used to hearing it. Though I'm pretty sure that Mosely would've been happy to report any of his white colleagues for using the word, I agree that it shouldn't have been reported to HR in this case (maybe the reporter had other motivations?). I do think Mosley's cry of "censorship" is OTT and wonder if he found a handy excuse to get out of something he wasn't enjoying.

It's always been the idea that The Federation isn't a capitalist society, and people work because they want to. This makes sense because if they have replicators that can seemingly replicate pretty much anything, what do they need to buy? "In world", things get murky as why would they need to trade so much, or have money for Quark's, or have mining colonies and so on. Of course, the whole thing started in TOS which means that it could in no way be a product of poorly thought through writing
.

Château does indeed translate as "castle", but it's usage is somewhat less straightforward: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ch%C3%A2teau

A more direct link would be the star of Hellraiser 3 being the real Dax (and later Mrs Adam Nimoy), Terry Farrell! Also Scott Bakula (Captain/Admiral Archer) played Harry D'Amour in the underrated "Lord of Illusions"; Harry D'Amour features in Hellraiser author Clive Barker's "The Scarlet Gospels" where he goes up against Pinhead. (I didn't think it was very good).
BTW folks, don't bother with any of the DTV "Hellraiser" films (5 and later). They're rubbish!

Herman's Hermits covered it, but Sam Cooke was the original. And what I expect most people remember.
