I remember when members of this board were claiming that this show would never even be filmed, as various angry young men on YouTube had "proof" that it was cancelled...

Come on, Nex. If people were serious about opposing plagiarism, nobody could vote for Joe Biden!

But I did see STD twice! And since a lot of stuff that was predicted in the leaks proved to be true (just like the script for the latest Star Wars Movie). And After seeing that gore in episodes 4 and 5 I no longer need to watch the show to know it is not Star Trek .And youtubers like RLM and Midnights Edge have become quite respectable People in the industry watch these videos and some of them actually give interviews and join in on line discussions.Midnight's Edge for example recently had interviews with TNG writer Melissa Snodgrass (who was the principle writer for The Measure Of A Man)and the actor who played the original Icheb in VOY.They also had interviews with Nicholas Meyer (Who directed TWOK and TUC) and Robert Shay(former CEO of New Line). So I am more inclined to value their opinion over those of the biased established media outlets and critics certainly after lying to and attacking fans of franchises. Blaming them for everything when one of their woke pet projects fail at box offices.

Unfortunately not god forbid the franchise actually becoming a success and being appreciated by everybody.

Section 31 being made all depends on how well STP is doing and according to views on open media ,twitter and other social media and number of searches for STP on Google STP after a good premier dropped off pretty quickly and since it's premier has not been a leading topic on twitter or other media forms were fans come together to discuss what they just watched In fact those Youtubers you revile so much actually get more viewers on the day an episode is aired then Wil Wheaton's after episode chatshow.Add to that that they haven't started filming yet(they just wrapped up shooting STD season 3)and there is a possible writers strike in Hollywood that is looming if that happens in May or June they can't produce anything for the period that lasts so it might happen but not this year.

Yes and the interview is with Kurtzman who is no longer connected to Star Trek since summer last year and can only speak as producer for Secret Hideout plus Kurtzman is to busy with A Clarice Starling series which was announced by Hollywood Reporter beginning this year there actually was a synopsis by Kurtzman for that show available since last month. And Kurtzman has been known to announce things that haven't been green lit by Viacom/CBS who are responsible for the budgets and according to insiders these kind of announcements passes them off because in this manner Kurtzman is trying to force them to make Section 31.And according to the same resources that leaked the story and character elements that are episode by episode turn out to be true about STP Miss Redstone &Viacom/CBS have not approved a Section 31 show and they together with Netflix and Amazon want to get rid off Kurtzman Trek because they are bleeding money. One has to take these rumors with a pinch of salt but let's face it they have been talking about a Section 31 for almost 1,5 years and last year Kurtzman was promising a Section 31 series to go in production which didn't happen and now he refers to an upcoming series of undetermined name so he is already coming back on his promises. Also the fact that there is buzz going round Hollywood that Viacom/CBS want to start a new streaming service in which CBS All Access will be merged together with Sports Showtime and probably the Paramount movie library would indicate that CBS All Access and therefor STD and STP are not drawing in the viewers and subscribers they hoped for but announcements about this are expected round June/July of this year.

Just for clarification: they did freeze in Ep 5, but Picard had given a verbal command to freeze/pause. This may be foreshadowing, or might have just been to let the audience know that we weren't actually back at the château.
Looking at the credits for "The Island", Kurtzman was one of the writers working off someone else's story. Not entirely sure you can blame him for similarities to prior works. (BTW, it was this 1979 film https://v5.themoviedb.org/movie/98851-parts-the-clonus-horror). Besides which, most stories have been done before. Many people noticed the similarities between The Island and Michael Marshall Smith's "Spares" (https://spikemagazine.com/0100spares/) which had previously been optioned by Dreamworks. Similarly, ABC had optioned Bill Willingham's "Fables" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fables_(comics)) and then went on to make "Once Upon A Time".
A lot of the stuff that was in the leaks also proved to be BS, like "Picard won't even start filming".

Yeah imitation is the highest form of flattery but still that isn't free you at least have to ask permition from the original creator for use of their IP.As for CBS ,CBS was so anal about Axenar making use of their IP and sued them so don't you think it is equally fair that other people sue CBS for them using their IP ?Don't you think it's a bit hypocrite for CBS not wanting to acknowledge the people whose IP they are copying while they are aggressively protective of their own IP?And CBS seems to have a habit of not asking anything because according to Miss Snodgrass they didn't inform her or asked permission from her to make her episode The Measure Of A Man the backbone of the Picard series that she only knew of it through friends of her that pointed that out to her seems a bit disrespectful to not at least inform her they were going to use her story.

At least you can't blame someone to get acknowledgement if CBS Secret Hideout stole their concepts and ideas.Just because you might not win at least the audience gets to know that CBS is basically copying other people's IP and currently they are very obviously copying it.As for The Island lawsuit the judge or the producers must have realised that the similarities between the French work and The Island were too obvious that they settled the case with a seven figure number.
As for the scam man it seems to me that he will probably win the next election especially if they are going to fuck over Bernice Saunders again with what one is currently hearing about The Democratic Party wanting to obstruct his nomination for Democratic candidate for the presidency in favour of a Warren,Biden or Bloomberg while ignoring that Saunders has won every primary. If they do that again don't look too surprised that Democratic voters won't vote for the Democratic candidate in favour of Trump just out of protest or won't vote anymore at all.

Meanwhile, Joe Biden has lots of foreign policy "experience": he has been wrong about every foreign policy issue, for at least 40 years.
Yep that's a LOT of experience, all right.
And he was just talking to people about foreign policy last week, at that diner he goes to all the time, that hasn't existed for 20 years...

Yeah people from both parties will vote for another shady millionaire to replace a shady milionaire already in power I do think you underestimate how many old folks vote for Saunders and so far he has been beating his opponents with double the amount of voters.
Hey if people believe the lies of Trump what prevents them from believing the lies from Bernie I don't think you understand how much the voters hate the established politicians and politics.Because that was the reason Trump became president in the first place. But hey put forward Biden or Bloomberg my prediction is that in such a scenario Trump will get re-elected certainly after the failed impeachment process of the Democrats.
