I remember when members of this board were claiming that this show would never even be filmed, as various angry young men on YouTube had "proof" that it was cancelled...

Quark wasn't in the bar so who is to say that is his bar maybe he had a bar but sold it after the crash and the new owner didn't bother to change the name.Besides if it was Quark's bar he most likely be at the bar since that was what he did for most of the time on DS9 and he wouldn't trust another to run his bar god forbid they might steal from him or skim some of the profits.

Which would keep Quark's business enterprises on the small side, because in order to really be successful you can't be having to do everything yourself.

Like that comment about the TNG era characters was in any way serious the fact that I mentioned Tuvok becoming a stand up comedian should have been a give away but hey to appreciate that one has to have a sense of humor.

All just memberberries as an attempt to convince the viewers they are watching a Star Trek show.(although viewers aren't stupid)

Data never needed dancing LESSONS, or LESSONS in anything else. Someone just shows him, and he copies them.

Again you display how little one is in touch with geek and pop culture because memberberries is not a term that has his origins with the anti Kurtz Trek crowd. The term was coined by the lads from South Park as a criticism of Star Wars The Force Awakens and the Hollywood trend of continuous rehashing of popular franchises by merely making and showing references to things that defined them in pop culture and became (for a lack of a better word)trademarks for their respected franchises with the accompanying (back)story character and or plot build up that made these references so original, resonating or emotional. In layman's terms it's a nice shinny facade that hides the truly decrepitated state of building. In South Park being the goofy show it is the memberberries are actual berries that are sentient and always mention pop culture stuff from the past in order to elude the citizens of South Park into a false comfort of nostalgia without over thinking what is actually going on/being objectively critical(which in the case of South Park results into people being manipulated)The memberberries say things like "Member Star Wars" or "Member Chewbaca,Back To The Future etc etc" This plot coincidentally unravels together with the introduction of the character PC Principle and a satire on the Neo Political Correctness Movement that enters into the South Park community.South Park in a way predicted the whole current climate and that the whole NPC thing was going to be used as a lame excuse to cover up for some real dumb things(read poor, dumb, lazy, uninspired and or shitty writing)(The show is actually far more clever than the people give it credit for and they have gained some kind of reputation of predicting certain things that would later play out in the real world "life sort of imitating art ").

Oh great now we get the space herpes plot again. And since Soji is an android(or synth)she can't be infected with an organic virus she has to cary a computer virus which considering the Romulan hate of synths and A.I.(by the series own admission)is a plan doomed to fail.Talking about the Trojan horse plot I kinda feel sorry for Icheb and Seven of Nine should have put that phaser at her own head since it was her who prevented Icheb from being assimilated again by the Borg after his parents send him as a Trojan horse back to the collective to save their planet from being overrun by the Borg.In hindsight Icheb would have better of being part of the collective in the Delta Quadrant than being butchered alive in the Alpha Quadrant but hey not only makes the show turn Picard in this demented and deranged hypocrite it also puts 7of 9 in a less than favourable light. At least in the Delta Quadrant Icheb would still be alive not only that he would have been a hero to his own people by infecting the Borg who then could not overtake his homeplanet.

I really wish this forum had a search function! I'm sure that someone posted that PIC had had its episode count cut back to 9 (because it was so rubbish, blah, blah, blah). It seems that this was wrong, too.

I believe the story was that it had dropped from 13 to 10, not 9.

Yes they had initially set up Picard for 13 episodes but because CBS though the series is partly paid for by Amazon(though for less then they had originally wanted Netflix to pay for it)has a cash problem so they had to cut costs also rumors have it that part of Picard's budget was spend on STD which cost a lot more than the original $8-10 million per episode that was reported and some say the costs are between $10 to 40 million per episode.Netflix as a result that STD was doing poorly and Kurtzman went on a spending spree brought the contract with Secret Hideout and Kurtzman to court for legal ruling whether Kurtzman was allowed under the contract terms to spend so much.Netflix did this in order to get rid of the contract without having to pay $400 million to Secret Hideout (which Kurtzman tried to use to extort Netflix not pulling the plug on STD).By all accounts Netflix won the case which meant Netflix pulled the plug on STD which is why they had reshoots untill last month(tweets from Frakes and Michelle Paradise confirm this) in order to rework the story for season 3 so to end STD by the end of season 3.The actor who plays Saru has tweeted that he hasn't heard anything about a season 4 and other reports mention the sets for STD at Pinewood Canada have been torn down.As for STP that show getting a second season all depends how it is doing with Amazon and CBS All Access and from the rumors one keeps hearing that is not looking to great either.Viewers in Canada dropped by a 100,000 per episode after starting at 1.8 million and was at barely 1.3 million after 5 episodes. Also STP since it's release was never trending on social media and the number of searches for STP on Google dropped dramatically after a couple of episodes.Add to that the Viacom/CBS showed deep red numbers for their annual revenues presented in a shareholders meeting in the end of februari. Also a forth movie with the current team seems also very unlikely Simon Pegg confirmed this more or less by mentioning a new film was going to need a budget of around $200 million and Trek movies barelyknow make $500 million which is hardly enough to make a profit since to break even one has to make at least three times the budget so no investors are going to spend that much money an a Trek movie. Also CBS All Access is by all accounts a disaster(hence the red numbers) so that is going to merge with other Viacom/CBS properties into a new streaming service which is going to be announced in June. All other Trek shows in development apart from STD,STP and Lower Decks are on hold since CBS so far has been unable to find finances for the show they keep saying that these shows are going into production but that is all window dressing to keep up the illusion that all the shows and CBS All Access are doing fine in order not to loose subscribers.
