Discuss Star Trek: Picard

No I haven't seen it but in fairness I will post this glowing review. Since I previously linked a bad review here then is a good one. Hopefully this will offer a chance to discuss the new show with positivity. If you are anti-Picard, no need to repeat your arguments as they are well known already. This is meant to be a pro Picard thread

Well the problems with Picard are not so much about canon as it is about bad and lazy script writing, the depressing mood, the blatant racism sexism ageism and misogyny, the less than subtle political messaging, the pacing issues ,the Twillight level of dialogues, lack of coherent structure, the blatantly copying of other franchises and it above all being incredibly boring.

District 9 did the aliens as immigrants type metaphor without being so obvious and more creativly.

A friend of mine stopped watching "Lois And Clark" when Clark/Superman lamented about knowing how illegal Mexicans feel.

Yeah that was a great movie and part of my collection and with a subtle messaging without hitting the viewer over the head with it.

I'd love to see the two former Tal Shiar agents reacting to ICE trying to arrest them at Picard's house. They'd kick their asses, then use their guns and say "Deport this!"

Well that is not that far from what happens in episode 3

I'd like to see Talia Shire as a Tal Shiar

I know. They were great!

She would be like a consieglieri like she was in the Godfather III

@Damienracer kissing What the f**K is wrong with you? That "plot description" of yours makes no sense. My opinion is that Picard is a interesting collage of Star Trek, The X-Files, and Classic Twilight Zone. Live Long and Proper.

Maybe on acid

Calm down it's just a TV show.

The more I see this, the less ST it seems to me. Dont get me wrong, I can enjoy it for what it is, a fun space adventure, but it just dosent feel like ST to me. And Im not even a big fan.

I'm a fangirl, and I have no idea what you're talking about. This is last post on the subject.
