The good: My favorite was the graphic gray suit from the Australian. The lines on that jacket were amazing.

Second goes to the Mountie look. Yes it was literal but the proportions were spot on. The strong shoulder is back, I or so I've read.

Dmitri added just the right detail to avoid looking too peasant dress.

Seth Aaron's look was very Daryl Hannah in Blade Runner. One of my favorite films.

I was not a fan of Irina's look. Yes it had impact but I agree with Isaac, chicken costume at kids party. Worse, I didn't see her inspiration at all.

The bad:

I think I'm going to hate Django Eurotrash. He's just so fashion forward in that European way, doncha know, these judges just won't get him. His asymmetric skirt and weird white sleeve look were just strange.

Michelle should have been in the bottom. A glittery bolero over a very basic white muslin looking dress.

Anya does not belong here. She cannot design or sew anything but a flowy beach dress. Least deserving winner in show history.

Anthony got very lucky. There is no excuse for what he showed. He should have been eliminated.

Well, we are very disappointed that Seth Aaron was eliminated. He is one of our favorites. But we can't really argue with the judge's decision. Any of the bottom three could have gone. We would likely have made a different selection to eliminate, but that is just the difference in a largely subjective evaluation.

I would have sent the blue and white bottom dress home. There just was no creativity there. Seth didn't do a good look, deserved bottom 2.

Irina deserved the win, I think she made the best use of the materials. That red bag is was everything. I thought Michelle's dress was overrated.

Why on Earth wasn't that cute hoodie in the top?

W-what?@

astonished

All Seth did was hang some seat belt off of a model's shoulders and called it a dress?

seat < # dress

The Blue & White dress wasn't anything special, but it didn't look like its original object and it was reshaped to look like a dress.

Unlike Seth, who didn't disguise the seatbelts and didn't try to change the shape of them, imo.

Oh, I loved both dresses, and I was glad one of them won.

Why on Earth wasn't that cute hoodie in the top?

I can't recall that one.

I'd send a link but I can't find one. Nobody is recapping this show.

I'm not really a fan of the underwear as outerwear trend, but there were some nice looks. It looked like the judges chose the top 3 based on the best use of the corset rather than which were the best looks overall.

I think they picked the right winner, and Irina did a great job too. I was on the fence about Dmitri's look.

I loved Sean's look, but I guess he did a version of the challenge that several others did, which was to make a suit and cinch it with the corset.

As for the bottom, I would have put Anya in the bottom rather than the Brazilian. I get why they did so, though. Did anyone else get Ashley flashbacks over that hat?

You just knew Jasper was going home based on all the shade he was throwing around the room. Editing. He deserved to go with this look. Corsets are supposed to be flattering, and his was the opposite of that.

We're also not fans of the underwear look; except in Steampunk venues where you can do a lot with it.

We really liked Anthony Ryan's look. Jasper's was pretty bad, but we thought the Brazilians was very messy.

I agree. They picked the right winner. Dmitri's look was so ugly and cheap. There was no redemption with that fringe.

I wasn't mad at any of the looks. It was Dmitri's that was so offensive.

Did anyone else get Ashley flashbacks over that hat?

OMG! Yes!

I didn't notice the corset. I just saw glued on lace on a bodice.

To me, it was sexy enough.

I was rolling my eyes at the contestants shading Michelle for copying Dmitri's cutout technique. She is right, he didn't invent it. She deserved the win.

I loved Anthony's look but it didn't say wild night out to me.

Sean's look was one of my favorites, sexy and whimsical at the same time. I was very surprised to see him in the bottom.

Django got lucky. Why does he like those awful green fabrics so much? Better color and execution could have saved the skirt/pants but the bustline was super unflattering.

Julie deserved to go. The design and execution of that dress was awful. She must have talent, she won a season, but nothing she did this season would indicate it.

I was quite fond of Anthony's look but agree it would not be my pick for winner. Michelle's was great. I'm not sure why so many designers think a technique or silhouette is unique to them.

Django's was awful. (though I liked the bracelet) That outfit didn't say lion to me at all.

I could see where Julie was going, but it failed totally. I think the juxtaposition between the "white" and black was important to achieving the gibbon look. She failed on a number of fronts. first, she decided to make the white beige. (at least it looked beige on my screen.) That lost a lot of the drama immediately. Why she thought putting the white on the hips would be interesting I don't know; at least with that fringing effect. I would have had some white up at the shoulders or bustline. But I would not have fringed it. The attempt to simulate fur with fabric was commendable, but, again, it just didn't read properly. I'm not sure what I would have done there, but something cleaner would have been a better option.

I was rolling my eyes for that and .... , because ....

Pot calling the kettle black

Eh, it was all -ight.

They should have made it a double elimination and sent him packing.

Julie deserved to go. The design and execution of that dress was awful. She must have talent, she won a season, but nothing she did this season would indicate it.

I didn't get her look at all.

Props to the bracelet, but the outfit certainly didn't read lion. I think he wanted that other animal and designed for it instead of a lion.

She should have started with better material, and as you said, she should have used white instead of beige.

Irina's wallaby design was really cute.

I don't know if a woman would wear it out for a night on the town, but it was definitely interesting.

I can't remember that one.

Btw, Michele picked the best animal. The porcupine was cute and fierce at the same time.

Irina made a yellow cape like top that she said was very NY. Sadly, I can't find any pics.
