The good: My favorite was the graphic gray suit from the Australian. The lines on that jacket were amazing.
Second goes to the Mountie look. Yes it was literal but the proportions were spot on. The strong shoulder is back, I or so I've read.
Dmitri added just the right detail to avoid looking too peasant dress.
Seth Aaron's look was very Daryl Hannah in Blade Runner. One of my favorite films.
I was not a fan of Irina's look. Yes it had impact but I agree with Isaac, chicken costume at kids party. Worse, I didn't see her inspiration at all.
The bad:
I think I'm going to hate Django Eurotrash. He's just so fashion forward in that European way, doncha know, these judges just won't get him. His asymmetric skirt and weird white sleeve look were just strange.
Michelle should have been in the bottom. A glittery bolero over a very basic white muslin looking dress.
Anya does not belong here. She cannot design or sew anything but a flowy beach dress. Least deserving winner in show history.
Anthony got very lucky. There is no excuse for what he showed. He should have been eliminated.

Avant gard is always interesting. Some just don't get it.
I would probably have gone with Michelle for the win. A great idea, really well executed. Anthony had a great look too, although I had to agree with Dima, the idea is kind of dated in the 21st Century.
I did not see Christina as top. I thought she should have been bottom. I feel like versions of that look have been done many times before.
Sean's look was awful, but he had an interesting idea, he just couldn't execute it. Django's completely lacked ideas, innovation or inventiveness. He took it well, surprisingly.

We weren't overly impressed by anything last night. We didn't think anyone was really thinking avant-garde; maybe because they were distracted by the invent something requirement. We didn't think we were going to like Michelle's, but were pleasantly surprised. Christina's main attraction was the speakers on the hips; cute, but it didn't make the rest of the look all that interesting. Anthony Ryan's look was ok and kind of cute; but a bit out of date.
For the bottom looks, we've seen versions of Irina's on a hundred masquerade/cosplay stages. Its a basic concept that almost everyone does at some point, so it really failed the innovation vibe this challenge was supposed to foster. And even though it made of a light weight mesh, it really did look heavy; at least on screen. Maybe it was better in person but at least one judge saw "heavy" as well. We didn't think Sean's idea was all that original either, though that shoulder had some interesting properties. We really liked Django's hat, but the overall look didn't say inventive or avant-garde to us at all.

Me either.

Me either.
Overall, I thought this was just meh. I did think Christina's outfit looked great on the stage, but when I revisited it, it was nothing to write home about in my opinion. However, it did have some avant gard light elements to it.
Overall, Anthony's was a coat. How avant garde in construction is that? Oh, let me see... you can write on it. It did look cute, but was this the winning look?
I didn't really get or like Michelle's dress, but I did like the final picture and styling of it.

Christina's looked like a sci fi or superhero costume to me. Seen it a thousand times.
Michelle had an idea for a garment that we haven't seen before (sensory deprivation dress) which looked super cool on the runway, imo.

I agree, and I think these designers should have been called out for not doing Avant gard, just like that designer who was eliminated for not using two colors from a tassel.
Michelle did try to meet both parts of a challenge, which was good.

2/20 episode:
I think the right winner and loser were chosen. Biddelll's look was really an eyecatcher. Like one of the judges, it gave me a Studio 54 feel. The loser was just so bland, and not a nighttime look.
I didn't like Irina's dress as much as the judges did. Like many of her pieces this season, I thought it could have used some editing. She is going overboard with ideas. Oh, and those shoulders were hideous.
I would have put Dmitri in the top instead. I think lots of girls would wear that cute top.
The most controversial look, the ruffled pants, I was a fan. I hated the top, but those pants were a statement.

The loser was right, but I didn't think the winner was. Michelle should have won. I always ask myself can I or anyone woman wear that garment. The answer is no for Biddell -- not at an evening event -- not in current times. Yes, I agree it's Studio 54, but that was the seventies.
I agree about the editing. The shoulders were hideous, but overall, the dress fit the challenge. I don't think it was top 3, but then again most of the garments were lackluster.
Uh... that cute top came with a crazy skirt. Plus, together, the ensemble didn't look like evening.

2/27 episode:
My favorite of the season. I love gender neutral, and almost all the looks were great.
My disagreements with judges were Anthony Ryan, who's look I hated, and Sean, whose look I loved. Switch those 2 around. My top 3 were Michelle, Biddell and Sean. Safe, Christina. Bottom, Irina, Dmitry and Anthony. Anthony going home. Biddell is right, gender neutral doesn't mean sexless.
I can't decide between Michelle and Biddell for the win. Both did unexpected things with the gender neutral concept.
The models for this challenge were fierce. A designer's dream. I do think they should have been given more info about them before shopping and finalizing the designs. But that is nitpicking.

This was the best runaway of the season!
I agree. I am at least glad Alyssa stopped Izac in his tracks when he went on his usual praise of Anthony Ryan. I swear Izac has a major crush on A.R.
I agree with the winner, which was Christina. I wasn't loving Michelle's coat too much, and I really wasn't mad at Irina's coat.
Bottom: Dmitry. OMG! I knew they were going to give him the female model, and he still screwed it up!
I'm glad they didn't, because it forced the designers to think neutral. By the way, I know I've seen the model, Merica before, but I can't place him. It's bugging me.

I would have put Dmitry and AR in the bottom. Biddell is right, gender neutral doesn't mean sexless. I thought AR was the biggest offender in that area. I didn't love Irina's but it wasn't bad either. Any of the others would have been a good choice for the win. I liked Biddell and Michelle the best. I thought theirs were the most creative gender neutral pieces. I wasn't unhappy with Christina's win.

Biddell definitely should have been a top 3, but Izac's favorite, AR had to have a top 3 spot for some reason.
Now, I know I watch too much reality TV, because I absolutely know Merica, AR's model. I just can't place him.

The two international designers left put in the bottom seemed crazy to me. Bye Christina, don't really think you deserved to get eliminated.

Dmitry's model walking the runway holding a coat, smh!
Plus, how many times have we've seen this bohemian look? Why isn't he called out for it?
I really liked Christina's look and can't seem to remember Michelle's look. Yeah, I remember the pockets were sleeves and all but that's about it.
