The good: My favorite was the graphic gray suit from the Australian. The lines on that jacket were amazing.
Second goes to the Mountie look. Yes it was literal but the proportions were spot on. The strong shoulder is back, I or so I've read.
Dmitri added just the right detail to avoid looking too peasant dress.
Seth Aaron's look was very Daryl Hannah in Blade Runner. One of my favorite films.
I was not a fan of Irina's look. Yes it had impact but I agree with Isaac, chicken costume at kids party. Worse, I didn't see her inspiration at all.
The bad:
I think I'm going to hate Django Eurotrash. He's just so fashion forward in that European way, doncha know, these judges just won't get him. His asymmetric skirt and weird white sleeve look were just strange.
Michelle should have been in the bottom. A glittery bolero over a very basic white muslin looking dress.
Anya does not belong here. She cannot design or sew anything but a flowy beach dress. Least deserving winner in show history.
Anthony got very lucky. There is no excuse for what he showed. He should have been eliminated.

It was so bland that it faded from my memory. Seriously, I have no recollection of it.
I liked it more w/o the buttons.
I wished he raised the hemline and made it sexier, or it should have been longer. To me, the dress hemline stopped at a weird length.
Dmitri's dress
I didn't understand the white boots, but I liked the garment.
I was a fan, but I wished she didn't make a hood. At least, if there was a hood, I didn't want to see it worn.
Don't remember it.
I wasn't mad at it.
You know what I was thinking. . . she was a Harvey girl. Otherwise, how do you explain her win?
Yes, indeed!

I think you are onto something about Anya. So which was your fave?

There are no favorites so far, but I am partial to Irina. For me, it's too soon to tell.
By the way, I think Dmitri won, because his outfit was easy for JCPenny to reproduce, which won't be produced for some reason.

Irina is one of my favs too. I agree, I might have liked her look better without the hood. I didn't hate it, but not top 3 for me.

I dont think any of the top 3 would do well selling at JC Penny, or any other mainstream department store.

Me either but it doesn't matter since JC is not going to be making any of the winning designs.

Episode 2:
A really hit and miss affair. I felt sorry for Michelle, getting that ugly green and yellow combo. She did all right with it.
There were some seriously bad looks. I think they could have had a bottom 5. In additions to the 3 named, Django with that awful gold dress that looked like it was bleeding onto a crinkled piece of paper.
What in the world was Irina thinking? She had the potential for a great dress, with a couple more layers in the front and more boob coverage. It was beautifully made, but wow, so inappropriate. Who would wear that to a graduation party?
Another who got unlucky with color combo was the Australian with that navy and red, and she didn't help matters by making such a matronly dress. It looked like a fall look, so not really graduation. I thought Dmitri's was a little mature for graduation also.
Then we have Asian Canada guy who thinks he can use one color when two is required for the challenge. How could someone who has already done the show think that that is OK? I think they did right to eliminate him.
I loved Anthony Ryan's look. Why does a graduation outfit have to be a dress? I think lots of young women would wear that.
I loved Sean's dress too, but I agree with Dmitri about the excess use of fringe. I had to laugh at that confessional.
There was another white dress that I like better than Seth's, from the Philippine guy. That cute white dress with the little jacket and cutouts. I would have put that in the top three, and given it the win. I liked Seth's also.

There are no ugly colors just ugly designs. I think she did okay, but if I had those colors I would have used yellow w/green ornamentation. Plus, I wouldn't used two loud colors. In other words, she didn't have to pick a loud green and a loud yellow. She could have chosen softer shades.
OMG! Why wasn't that at the bottom?
The dress was what Mizrahi said too quinceanera. There was no saving it with that fabric choice.
Personally, I felt that any color combo could work, if they chose softer hues. For some reason, they all seem to go with the boldest shades of the colors.
It was a nice dress. He should have added purple mesh on the cutouts he had on the sides of the dress.
To me, I have to agree w/a judge in thinking it looked too sporty. I wasn't too in love with it, but I think he did justice for his color combos.
LOL w/ what Dmitri said. I LOVED Sean's dress, but I didn't want to stare at it for too long, because the fringe started to look like fishing lures. It was starting to ick me out, and it was one of my favorites.
I didn't like Seth's dress all that much. I think the other guy's white dress was better.
By the way, I'm surprised Anya made something other than a maxi dress.

I thought she did make a green and white striped maxidress.

Well, it looked like pants. Then, I take another look. Heck, I don't know. Is it a high-low-asymmetrical hybrid?

Is that shorts or a short skirt underneath? In any case, not good, not bad. Right where the judges placed her.

I agree, but I think it matched what a girl would wear for an island graduation, just like someone suggested to her.

Thanks, JonnieBlack for letting me know we had a new topic here.
I generally agree with the judge's opinions. Definitely the right designer went home. Ignoring the challenge is inexcusable, regardless of whether the look in of of itself is good or not. I've judged competitions before, including those with limiting requirements. As a judge I would kick out someone who ignored the parameters of a competition.

I guess the heat is on Bravo. They were going to debut the show in July, but they moved it up to March. Wow, I wonder whether or not we will have to PR running at the same time.
