Look. In one dull ep (aren't they very much all?) I was forced to watch because family was watching-the completely unbearable Cap. Picard was supposed to make a bunch of planet natives believe again in some religion. Picard is merely scripted to say how the planet natives have progressed a great deal in no longer believing in deities and getting them to any religion again would be a step backward for them. In real life it is not true that getting folks away from the Bible would be making them more modern. The Bible has tremendous scientific accuracy. Why do you have to leave a book that shows the Earth is round and hangs on nothing? Why quit a book that shows how clouds give rain? Why give up on a book that shows how reptiles lived before man (Septuagint Version of Genesis)? Why lose literal faith in a book showing that man is from soil or mud (he is!!!)? The Bible writers could not have figured all this and more out by themselves--they had to have very special help. Our future is to contain more faith in the BIble and more in God --not getting away from it! (The universe needs a creator anyway--could not have made itself from nothing!)
Ray Comfort authored a great book, back around 2001, about scientific facts in the Holy Bible. Here is the link (it is long to write):
(Comfort's book is called "Scientific facts in the Bible" in case you do not click on the link.)

Amazing reply and bull fella. Science is 100 percent incapable of giving a better explanation as to where matter originated. Also, how do Bible writers know reptiles were before man in creation. And whole lot of other science facts found in The Good Book. You are 100 percent incapable of giving anywhere near a plausible explanation of how the universe created itself out of nothing, back to that point!

Everyone else. The account of creation itn the Bible book of Genesis is matching science more and more. As I stated already in 2014 it has been discovered using our "precious" science that water predates the sun just as the Bible writers proved. Ray Comfort's excellent book I have referred to shows many science facts in Bible. Read Comfort's book and learn a great deal about Bible scientific truths. There are tons of them.

Everybody else.In the last 40 years realize science dropped the Ramapithecus from being a human ancestor as it is now supposed to be an ancient form of orangutan. In less than the last 20 years the number of human genes went from being supposedly about 100,000 to around 23,000. And in less than the last 10 years we went from not any of us supposedly having any direct Neanderthal in our ancestry to most us having a percentage. You cannot put your faith in mostly totally fickled scientists to figure out how the universe made itself out out of nothing!! The Bible has info that gets more and more proven correct!

Comfort's book is a work of and it is scientifically true.

With so amazing Bible accuracy how can one stay so unbelieving?

Even though the yawnable TNG characters would, as usual, bore bad in this suggested scene how much greater a plot point it would have been to discover that Federation actually used the Bible because it is so scientifically and even historically accurate and the pure logic of matter needing an ultimate supernatural creator.

It would have outright been more consistent for the dull TNG gang to outright believe in God after Kirk's statement on better TOS!

But of the fictional world of Star Trek is of course crammed with alternate universes and different dimensions!

Everyone. Imperfect logic by another here that Kirk did not believe in God period because in Star Trek 5 he questioned what God would need with a starship!Kirk merely told the deity-like being being a great and all-powerful being that entity should not need a metal ship for anything. Kirk was not suggesting that there was no God-just that this being in particular was not God! Kirk's statement to Apollo OTOH was proof that the Feds did believe in God in general.

No watch the episode again where Kirk also says to Apollo that humans have outgrown gods and the idolisation of gods .You are aware that Roddenberry was an atheist I hope so no there is no place for Gods in Star Trek the show is about the benefits of technology. So why you keep posting this whole religious mambo jumbo here is beyond me. And stating that the bible is scientifically accurate by connecting it to science after the fact that the science was proven is not how science works.Science works on the basis that you depposite an original theory and that you have to prove this theory on the basis of experimentation and observation and on the basis of that you come to a conclusion whether your theory was right of wrong .And FYI the theory of evolution has been proven again and again also the Big Bang did happen proof is the 2K background radiation that has been observed by the COBE (Cosmic Background Explorer)satellite what happened before and during the Big Bang demands a higher understanding of particle physics and what certain particles are made of (Higgs bosons, muons, quarks, positrons, anti matter ,dark matter etc etc)and these are currently being discovered thanks to the Large Hadron Collider.

Everyone. You see the Bible has so much accurate science in it, as Comfort's book demonstrates, that what alternate theory anyone can try to come up with is utter nonsense.

Everybody look. Star Trek V was rather for laughs anyway. Should not be used much as canon.

For more Bible-located scientific facts. The leopard is not able to change spots. How did Bible writers know this along with tons of of other zoological, and just generally natural, science facts?

It is so wrong of anyone to equate atheism with progress. This dull show did!

Star Trek V was very badly scripted. Example. Why did McCoy believe the being was really God? Because it projected a big image in front of them? No biggie there! Certainly the Enterprise must have projector-like sophisticated devices on board that could even project better than that.
Also, what exactly was that phony being? What had imprisoned it? No clue!
