Discuss Star Trek: The Next Generation

Look. In one dull ep (aren't they very much all?) I was forced to watch because family was watching-the completely unbearable Cap. Picard was supposed to make a bunch of planet natives believe again in some religion. Picard is merely scripted to say how the planet natives have progressed a great deal in no longer believing in deities and getting them to any religion again would be a step backward for them. In real life it is not true that getting folks away from the Bible would be making them more modern. The Bible has tremendous scientific accuracy. Why do you have to leave a book that shows the Earth is round and hangs on nothing? Why quit a book that shows how clouds give rain? Why give up on a book that shows how reptiles lived before man (Septuagint Version of Genesis)? Why lose literal faith in a book showing that man is from soil or mud (he is!!!)? The Bible writers could not have figured all this and more out by themselves--they had to have very special help. Our future is to contain more faith in the BIble and more in God --not getting away from it! (The universe needs a creator anyway--could not have made itself from nothing!)

Ray Comfort authored a great book, back around 2001, about scientific facts in the Holy Bible. Here is the link (it is long to write):

www.amazon.com/scientific-facts-Bible-Reasons-Supernatural/dp/0882708791/ref=s_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=153219530&sr=8-1&keywords=science+facts+bible

(Comfort's book is called "Scientific facts in the Bible" in case you do not click on the link.)

PS Avoid three bad trolls on here (Invidia, Nexus and Jetfire!)!

I am the one who began this posting you are all trolls!

Everyone science cannot be trusted. Whittled down number of genes in recent years by scientists. Yet they discover a way to create matter out of Nothing!?!

From the Urban dictionary:

Trolling – (verb), as it relates to internet, is the deliberate act, (by a Troll – noun or adjective), of making random unsolicited and/or controversial comments on various internet forums with the intent to provoke an emotional knee jerk reaction from unsuspecting readers to engage in a fight or argument

Ignore the trolls like Nexus.

Trouble makers like Nexus are the ones who go picking fights with people who are not even talking to them to begin with. Who invade other people's space on these boards very wrongly. Who ignore plain logic like that one can easily prove science is utterly flawed and often trustworthy. Nexis leads a bad life for doing all this and much more. And trying to spread boredom which can have tragic effects.

NEXUS IS NOT A TROLL. I'll tolerate a lot from idiots like you, but NOT that. Nexus is one of our group's most respected members. HE IS NOT A TROLL. Go crawl back into whatever hole you came out of, Benton.

Well thank you for that Jet I very much appreciate your opinion my dear friend. And No Jet is not a Troll either I usually am a patient man but even when proven so many times at being wrong and still persisting at being wright I can't but get the impression that you are the troll here Beneton 12 .And than has the audacity to call others trolls when they disprove his moronic theories while posting unsolicited and/or controversial posts about religion on the boards of a science fiction show(the science bit should have been a give away but hey obviously science unfortunately hasn't found a cure for stupidity(yet) ) and acts all but hurt because of that to me seems that you either under the age of 12 a mental patient or just a plain and simple troll.Seriously Beneton what else would you have expected for replies about your claims on the Bible on a Star Trek board (or the board of any other science fiction show or movie for that matter)?

If you don't like others disagreeing with you or react to your posts like we do here I should suggest posting these things on the boards of the Little House on the Prairie,7th Heaven or shows that have a more religious inclination.Otherwise you're just here the cause a stir ,or to provoke.

Thanks for your support which is very much appreciated NEX.

You're welcome Invidia

Nope water was much later than the first stars basically the early universe for 99.99999999999% consisted of hydrogen, this hydrogen under gravitational collapse cause fusion and the formation of a stars where under high temperatures and pressure two hydrogen atoms are fused together to form helium and energy(light ,heat ,radiation) 1x D(deuterium )atom + 1x T(tritium)atom--> 1x He atom +1x n(neutron) + 17,6 Me V in energy, Stars then go through a certain lifespan first in the (main-sequence star phase) fusing hydrogen (H )into helium (He).After the star has fused most of it's hydrogen it will start to fuse helium into more heavier elements and the star at this moment will cool down a bit but swell up (the red giant phase) what happens next depends on the size and mass if it is much larger than our sun the star will fuse more heavier elements (such as oxygen (O2) and become even bigger(super red giants like Betelgeuse or Antares). If as large or smaller than the sun the fusion will stop and the star will shed it's gaseous shell and only the core remains smouldering for a couple of million years until it dies out. With the super red giants the fusion into heavier elements will continue until the giants starts to fuse iron(Fe) this ends the whole fusion process because the core would have to have such high temperatures and pressure to fuse iron that in the process the core implodes catastrophically on itself and explodes in a "Supernova"during that massive explosion the very heavy elements such as gold(Au) and uranium(U) are formed. And if a star has more than 8 solar masses or the Chandrasekhar limit the core of the star after supernova will keep on collapsing until eventually it becomes a neutron star or a black hole. So for water or H2O to exist there have to be oxygen atoms and since these weren't present after the big bang they had to be created through various fusion processes. In fact all things around us and including ourselves consist of atoms that were formed at the heart of stars we are by definition starchildren.

Yes. TNG had every bad scruples as a show. Or rather the creators of it did.

Ignore trolls Invidia, Nexus, and Jet. Everybody in 2014 it became a scientific fact that water is older than the sun (see Discover magazine Sep. 2014. Troll Nexus quoted info written back in 2013!

Than our sun okay I grant you that but still in the early universe not that long after (if we are measuring things in billions of years that is) the big bang only hydrogen existed and before water can be formed oxygen has to exist in sufficient amounts to create water and that oxygen could only have been formed after fusion in another star that existed prior to the formation of our sun and our solar system. And I was deliberately not going into details it's a board for a TV show not the board at Science or Nature I was just giving a brief summary here. But even so one could argue that in our solar system the Sun was created before there was water on the Earth (since scientist nowadays have concluded that most of the water on Earth came after it was formed and was bombarded by massive amounts of asteroids and comets which brought most of the water to this planet)

Everyone google "Much of the Earth's water is older than the Sun" and "by Mike Wall".

Singin' Doo wah ditty ditty dum ditty doo.

Tell please these three trolls I am not listening to them anylonger. And their notions keep getting disproven.

You want to see a troll? Look in the mirror.

Why talk when no one is listening? And where you can you drum up confidence after you have been so disproven? I am not reading a probably mistaken word you are saying, Jet, but I see you have come back. You thrive on rejection. When I came on the board it said you responded to my posting but I will not read your inappropriate response.
